Re: I just voted
Wife and I voted this morning at the City Hall. The parking they have there is filled mostly with employee vehicles and we had to wait on a parking spot but got the vote done. Small conservative city and it all went smoothly.
Re: I just voted
Oregon is 100% mail-in or drop box. No voting booths here. Ballots get mailed out to registered voters starting today.

Re: I just voted
Yup, but here in California you can still vote on Election Day.
They mail out ballots to every registered voter.
I took my mail in ballot and dropped it in the ballot box at city hall.
Deplorable California 2A supporter.

Re: I just voted
first day of early voting in NC is day after tomorrow (the 17th) .... for many years we always voted on election day but so many people have moved in that the lines are just tooooo long .... for the last few elections we've voted early and will do so again this time

They switched us from a school to a church. So far so good, never any lines. Wife and I will vote on Election Day in the early AM. A tradition with us.

We vote at one of the local county fire departments, and on election day.
I usually stop on the way home from work and hardly ever crowded.
Yes, it's very important this year.

Re: I just voted
I voted by Absentee Ballot this past Friday. I could have mailed it in, but used the dropbox at Town Hall, instead.
CT has in-person early voting this year.
October 21-28 & 30, 2024: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
October 29 & 31, 2024: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
November 1-3, 2024: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
And, of course, on November 5th; 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This year, there is a referendum question to allow Absentee Voting privileges to all eligible voters. "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?" Yes or No.

Re: I just voted
We've talked about early voting but I like to walk in tall and proud on election day.
It just makes me feel like a good citizen. If there's a line I get to visit with neighbors.

I agree. And even though I don't say anything, to the officials anyway, I'm not afraid of indicating which side I'm supporting.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 9:08 amWe've talked about early voting but I like to walk in tall and proud on election day.

Washington also is 100% mail in ballot, either no postage required mail or drop box. I miss the going to our voting location and voting in person. I worked swing shift for many years and would vote in the morning, never a line. Then I would proudly wear my “I voted” sticker to work that afternoon.

Re: I just voted
I’m guessing there are fewer than 100 people registered to vote in my location. Everyone knows everyone by name. The first year I went alone. Now I load up my passenger van and take the gang.Cowboy Gun Fan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 9:32 amI agree. My mailing address is Ogema but I’m in the Town of Hill voting precinct. 364 people live in 35.7 square miles. In comparison about 2,000 milk cows live here too.

Hope everyone votes the same way and there is no fighting in your van, lol.

Re: I just voted
Voted Thursday last week. I just go to the county courthouse. They have parking spaces blocked off in the municipal lot behind the courthouse so parking is easy. Never see more than one other person (other than the poll workers). So it's walk in, vote and walk out.

Re: I just voted
today (Oct 17th) is the first day of early voting in NC .... our route back home from a couple of medical appointments took us by one of our local voting centers .... we reached it shortly before noon and were taken by surprise .... a conservative estimate would be that well over a hundred folks were in a line that stretched outside the door .... no, we didn't stop and will try again tomorrow
