Joey is back in. Alex Bowman was disqualified in post race inspection. His car was too light. The penalty of a last place finish put him below the cut line, which put Joey back in. For now anyway. We will see if Hendrick appeals, but I bet it won't stick.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Yeah like Geoff Bodine having 50’ or so of fuel line hidden in his car. Always liked that one.

Re: 2024 NASCAR
How about throwing something out of your car to create a caution, lol.
I like the radio communication with Dale Earnhardt years ago. The crew chief radioed Dale saying that we need a caution. Dale radioed back "I'm working on it".

Good explanation by Tony Stewart. I believe he is talking to Kevin Harvick in the video:

Interesting race following SVG at Miani, gambled on a late yellow that never came.
Timed right probably would have seen him win, somehow he managed to stretch his fuel milage and tyre life to almost 80 laps and came home in 16th.
Looking after tyres and saving fuel is one of the things he was very good at racing in Aus, appears to be another skill that is directly transferable to Nascar.

Re: 2024 NASCAR
Great race and well deserved win for Ryan Blaney, 12th for SVG in his Martinsville cup debut but all over shadowed by late race manipulation by Chev and Toyota.
Waiting to see what action Nascar takes really there should be some teams, cars and drivers that arent on the grid for the last race.
I cant see Byron being penalized as really he did nothing wrong or unsportsman like he was just slow.

Re: 2024 NASCAR
I dislike the way they find their champion these days. The driver who has won the most races can
be eliminated and a driver who has not won any races can get into the chase and win the
championship.
In other words, one lucky day can make you the champion.
I don't like it.

Well Nascar has handed out some serious penalties
Drivers of the 1, 3 & 23 all fined $100000 and 50 championship point penalty.
Owners of the 1. 3 & 23 all fined $100000 and 50 owner points penalty.
Crew chiefs and spotter for all 3 cars suspended from the final race
Team executives for all 3 teams suspended from the final race.

Manufacturer race manipulation in an attempt to make the 4.
Byron and Bell were separated by a single point for the last spot in the 4.
Byron was slow with about a dozen laps to go the 2 chev drivers were about a second a lap quicker and caught him. Refused to overtake and ran side by side behind him until the finish blocking anyone else from passing and putting him below the cut line.
Bell was a lap down no chance to improve his finishing position and gain the one point he needed, the 23 slowed dramatically in the final laps dropping a lap and allowing Bell to finish ahead of him. Bell actually made a mistake passing in the last corner hit the wall and pinned the gas to hold the position. Nascar excluded him for wall riding.

Re: 2024 NASCAR
I was watching it live and was wondering why they couldn't get around Byron. It was a little frustrating, but soon after learned why . Also at the same time Bubba "gets a flat". I thought it was real and really glad for Bell, but Nascar didn't like the wall ride. I would like to read the fine details on that rule as he didn't pass anyone and he only rode it a short distance.
It was pretty dumb for anyone to try to manipulate it. It's not the first time and it didn't always work back then.

Yeah I thought it was a rough call against Bell. Dont think he intestinally rode the wall more a case of making the best of a monumental error.
Hard to penalize either Bell or Byron as really they did nothing wrong.
They have penalized the drivers, the teams crew members but let the manufacturers off with nothing. Really if they want to stamp this out they need to penalize the people that are behind it and that is the manufacturers.
I would have liked to see the manufacturers penalized with a manufacturer points penalties.

Well, I just saw where we lost one of Nascar's great drivers yesterday. Bobby Allison, he was 86.

One of the old time greats. Tied with Darrell Waltrip for 4th place all time wins at 84.

Trackhouse have confirmed they will field a car in the Daytona 24hr with SVG, Conner Zilisch, Ben Keating and Scott McLaughlan to drive.
SVG and Scotty Mac both did a bit of endurance racing in GT3 cars here in Aus as well as racing supercars, SVG has also raced LeMans and Daytona previously so a bit of 24hr experience.

Re: 2024 NASCAR
Well, a Judge ruled in favor of 23XI and FRM Racing, for now anyway, but Nascar can appeal and probably will. As much as I am anti-Nascar in the last few years, Nascar is a private enterprise and I say they can do what they want.
