Our Morning Coffee and Weather

40 as I type with a high of 75 expected with lots of sunshine. Pretty darn nice for mid October. Today I’m meeting a guy who is selling me a S&W M/63 I’ve been looking for. Plus completing my electric dog fence in the back yard. Finally at 4:00 pm the Washington State Cougars play Fresno State which I will be watching.

I’ll be cutting and splitting firewood this morning, then helping a friend with a bit of plumbing and electrical on the cabin we moved to his property this spring. Then friends of my wife’s arrive for a visit. She’s great, he’s a jackass, so I’ll be testing my patience. He usually brings a bottle of whiskey for me, so there’s that

Sunny and mid 70s here for the next 3 days. We are in the last week of elk season, so will be out looking around. Deer runs from Sept 1 to Nov 30 here, so lots of time in different temps. It was 95* opening week. Nobody should take an animal in those temps.

48 now on its way to 80 under a beautifully clear, Carolina Blue sky ... by mid week they say our overnight lows will be in the upper 30's .... 0% chance of rain with single digit chances for the next week .... the recent hurricanes have pretty well killed the fall tourist season for folks who enjoy the fall colors .... nothing much on tap for today, nor for the most of the rest of this month .... Maureen has decided to have one of her knees replaced, most probably in mid January .... she doesn't want to have it done until after the coming holidays .... I hope to reach a point were we can resume our daily walks in the local town park .... that is something I wouldn't have looked forward to in the not too distant past

Woke up way too early today, what the hell? It’s a balmy 44 out there now and we’re looking at possibly the mid 70’s today. Wow, it is October? Maybe some decent rain mid-week, sure hope so. More outdoor work today but we’re thinking about taking the dogs up north for another grouse hunt tomorrow. Just a one day trip this time.

A good Sunday morning to all.
Was 66° when I got up, headed to the upper 80's. May hit 90 who knows, if we make it to 91° it will tie the record set back in '63.
And will be the last ot the 80's for a while, maybe the year. Sixtys this coming week with a few nights mid week to dip into the 30's.
Sittin out by the remnants of last nights fire, sippin my coffee.

We are taking the dog posse out for grouse this morning. Same weather here an hour north of you Hatch.

How did the posse do?

We changed out plans and are not going hunting today. We have rain coming in mid week and I want to get some projects done before. 38 now with a beautiful day ahead with temps again in the 70’s. I could get used to this but for sure will not be allowed to. After the mid week rain weather will be more fall like with highs in the 50’s and lows in the 30’s. It’s been a nice run of 70’s.

It’s a dreary wet day although the fall colors are bringing a bit of warmth to the view. These are taken from my front porch.

Was 49° here this morning, 66° now says it feels like 68.
Got a nice load of firewood cut up, about 3.5 to 4 hrs. worth. The wife came down and helped load it up. Not enough for the whole winter, but a darn got start. It's all red and white oak that was cut late last, they clear cut the place. I talked with one of the owners back in the spring and got permission to cut what we need.
Good part is it's only about a half mile down the road.

Nice pictures there Gene, my buddy down south of you said they got an all day rain yesterday.

Mark, good to see you back online and happy you didn’t have any flooding.

A mild one today at 44 on my thermometer. High should be a sunny 70 with rain coming in overnight. Then maybe a little bit more in the afternoon tomorrow. We need it bad. Gonna hit the lawn with some fall fertilizer today to take advantage of any rain we get.

Nice pics Gene and Randy. Welcome back Mark was 82 here yesterday as I laid in the street moving the jack around greasing wheel bearings on the RV. Not my favorite job anymore.

Got to unload that that wood today, have a buddy coming one day next week with a splitter.
I may try the maul on a few just giggles, may just go cut another small load... Decisions
