A cool 46 this morning but we should see 70 later if we get sunshine. Forecast is for some light showers here and there but nothing to get excited about. Fall like weather from here on out with lows in the 40’s and highs in the 60 - 70’s. We’re heading up to the property Saturday for several days and could see some pretty cool temps there in the mornings. Today it’s the golf course which is winding down for the season.

Yesterday I realized our softener was out of salt. Now the Surgeon and my Wife
have forbidden me to lift more than 20 lbs. for some time yet, (and Carol watches
me like a hawk), so I had to figure how to get 8 40 lb. bags of salt into the basement'
and into the salt container. I got the man at the hardware store to load them
for me, (while Carol watched), but I needed help getting them in so I asked my farmer
neighbor if he would give me a hand. He and his wife both came over and we got the
job done. I thanked them profusely but he just said, "That's just being neighborly".

Yesterday the propane company decided our thousand gallon tank needed to be replaced
so they took out the old one and put in a brand new tank. The old one had been in place
for 41 years and was pretty rusty.

46 this morning but 70+ later. Nice fall day indeed. Weather guy says we stuck in the 70’s for the next several days. Sounds good to me.

another day, another presurgery medical appointment ..... today's appointment was with a urologist .... came out with an all's well with my kidney stones (no growth) and no urinary track or other infections .... with that, all medical reviews have cleared the path for knee replacement surgery next Tuesday morning .... 3 of the 6 proscriptions I have so far that are related the knee replacement have been picked up .... the rest should be ready Friday .... the walker I will need for a while after surgery will also be ready for pickup on Friday ....right now its 82 and supposed to get up to 85 .... anticipating thunderstorms will pop up before things settle down for the night ....

50 with clear skies and the sun is starting to peek out. High today should be in the mid 70’s. Gotta love September here in these parts.

Today I’ll pull the RV out of the shop and start prepping it for “grouse camp” We’re leaving on Saturday for the north property. Morning hunting and afternoon plinking followed by cocktail hour. Hope I can survive all the misery.

80 very muggy degrees right now which is forecasted to be today's high .... first up this morning what proved to be a completely frustrating 50+ mile round trip drive north to Raleigh "rush hour" traffic .... I had an ophthalmology appointment at a practice I've used for decades .... the expected traffic backups delayed the drive .... arrived 10 minutes early and when I got to the reception window I was informed that my appointment was for their office located another 30 minutes north ..???.. that came as a complete surprise because until that moment I had no clue that place existed .... bottom line, the person who booked the appointment pushed the wrong button .... appointment rescheduled for early December .... about half way of the drive up there, it started raining and continued to do so until I got back to the almost same point way back .... got home just in time to drive my wife for a 60+ mile round trip to a dental appointment .... light rain while we were there, none while driving .... so today's morning and pretty much half of the afternoon is shot .... hopefully, tomorrow's appointments will turn out much more as scheduled

I got the Journey out yesterday and today I will get her fueled up and
dump the tanks. We leave on our last trip on Oct. 9 for Door County.
Fish boils here we come. Sounds awful doesn't it? Actually it's very good.
They do it in a large cauldron with White Fish, Onions, and Potatoes, and serve
it drenched in butter with a piece of cherry pie for desert.

46 this morning which will feel good on our morning dog hike. High of 72 later. We are under a freeze warning for tonight but the predicted low for me is 37. I don’t have a garden so no worries for me but those who do will have to put a cover on whatever plants they have left. This weekend and all next week are supposed to be those beautiful fall days of lows in the 40’s and highs in the 70’s. We’ll be up at the property which is about 700 ft higher in elevation so the temps there will be several degrees lower. Should be a nice week for us.

Today it’s run around day getting supplies for the trip and loading up the rv.

sure glad its Friday .... two days with no medical appointments ..... Saturday or Sunday needs to come more than once a week ..!!.. currently 82 but its so humid that it feels like 92 .... our new heat pump is getting a workout .... this morning Maureen learned that she has a "Macular edema" in her right eye .... she's been referred to doctors who are retina specialists .... OH GOOD, a whole new bunch of medical specialists .... waiting for a call to see when they can work her in .... along the picked up my new walker which I will need for a while after Tuesday's surgery .... we've also made post op sessions of physical therapy for at first in home and later with a group at their location

Eastern Washington is under a frost warning and my location has a freeze warning (colder than a frost warning) but I’m happy to report that the current temp is 39. It may go down a degree or two before the sun rises but not to freezing. Yea!

The motorhome is out in the driveway as we’re leaving today and all the windows are open. Oops….. I just went out and closed it up and turned the heart pump on to warm it a little bit. It was just a bit chilly in there.

All this talk about freeze/frost and by Wednesday the high is 82.

Coffee good... a day of rest is the plan. I hioe everyone has a good day. Perhaps its true that "smooth seas don't make good sailers", but everyone can appreciate a little calm water once in a while. Enjoy the day.

overnight rain has moved on leaving us with a humid 67 degree temp .... they say it will get up to 87 later today and we are in for some PM thunderstorms .... looks like our next tropical system is forming .... hurricane experts are still calling for an above-average hurricane season, with 16-20 named storms expected.... so far, there have been seven named storms, three of which have had direct impacts on the United States.... an additional two to four storms with direct U.S. impacts are forecast this season.​
