Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
currently 81 and is supposed to rise another degree before topping out for today .... 2% chance of rain .... its still early to make a really good prediction but it appears that the remnants of Francine should pass considerably west of us so nothing anticipated at this time .... today's medical appointment went well .... it was with the doctor who will be replacing my right knee on the 24th .... only thing I dread is I have to be at the hospital by 5:15AM ..

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
well yesterday's forecast missed on a significant scale .... it now looks like rain from Francine that has been falling all night will continue for the next day or two .... we've already gotten a couple of inches and its coming down heavy .... pretty much usual morning in that we've already taken our 8 year old grandson to track out camp and are now back home .... next up (as is usually the case) is a medical appointment for me .... 69 with continued heavy rain called for the next hour .... predicted high 77 ....

Door County is very nice. I spent a lot of time there when I lived in the Chicago area. Enjoy your trip...I know you will.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 9:02 am

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
no rain for the last hour or so .... the last time we checked it, our daughter's rain gauge was showing 5.1" .... no trouble believing it because the 700+ foot ditch dividing our property from the state road is over 2' deep

overcast, warm 70 degrees this morning .... rain from Francine moving away, stray shower still possible .... it appears a storm will develop off our east coast and deliver considerably more rain Monday/Tuesday ..... no plans to leave the Ponderosa today .... do hope to throw a stake on the barbie this evening

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Yes JE, it looks like you have enough moisture for both Coop and me. Yikes that’s a lot of water.
Cool morning at 50 with a light rain, yep a light rain that will be measured in the thousands of an inch. Oh well, we’ll take what we can get. It’s supposed to be a nice day with sunshine and 73 later. The other day when I went up to the property which is only 90 minutes away it was 56 at home and 43 there. A difference of 700 ft in elevation makes all the difference.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
another weather change is on our doorstep .... 68 on its way to 81 .... single digit chance of ran through 2PM when it jumps to 49% .... Breezy this morning; otherwise, mostly cloudy and humid with a shower in spots this afternoon with wind gusting to 25mph ..... tomorrow may get interesting .... windy gusts to 40mph with a 98% chance of bands of tropical storm rain .... that chance drops to 96% on Tuesday ..
.. looks like I need to put our normal storm preparations into action today

Another rainy day here, 69° with 96% humidity.
Came down to the river yesterday to see my buddy Eric. We watched some college ball and sipped cold beer. So I stayed the night.

A cool one today with a temp now of 48. I believe we will be in the 70’s again today as we were yesterday. We had a beautiful September afternoon yesterday sunny and warm. We may see a little bit of rain mid week and all around here are doing rain dances daily.
Not much on tap today. Yesterday I got a couple gun cleaned and ready to go dancing again.

We had a gift certificate for a high end restaurant so we went there for
dinner last night. What a disappointment. I had a filet that had no flavor
at all and the vegies were also bland and terrible. Carol was also unhappy with
her fish dinner. I do have to say that it was a pretty plate to see, but it ended
there. Is it just us that want good food. The place was very busy.
I think we're spoiled by what we get out here in the country.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
54 now with a high in the mid 70’s. Same all week with a slight chance of rain tomorrow. Fall is definitely in the air which means “Winter’s Coming”
Oh well, no avoiding it for me.
Time to start winterizing stuff. Next week we plan to hit the property in the RV for several days and see if we can rustle up a Grouse dinner.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
outstanding young fellow .... I have no doubt that y'all will build many happy memories that he'll treasure down the line
our local forecast was right .... lots of rain already today and much more on the way .... 66 right now with a predicted high of 71 .... 100% chance of "Windy with bands of rain from tropical storm; watch for flooding" .... 2 to 5 inches of rain .... flash flood warnings .... we already have one medical appointment behind us with another for our annual COVID and flue shots in a couple of hours .... all in all, a fairly low activity day

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
it appears the storm system that had dumped on us for the last couple of days is moving on .... per our rain gauges, it brought us 6.9" .... predicted high today 79 dropping back to 66 tonight .... about a 40% chance of more for today and tomorrow .... 88% chance day after tomorrow .... with my knee replacement surgery scheduled for one week from today, there is most certainly no shortage of things that need to be taken care of
