Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Will they be doing open surgery or laparoscopy? I had laparoscopy for mine and it wasn't bad at all, back to work in a couple of days, no heavy lifting for a couple of weeks.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Coop, glad the problem was found but sorry the cure will involve a surgery. Best to you.
Here in camp we woke up to a balmy 60 this morning. But as forecast we had a cloud cover come in overnight and had some on and off light rain this morning. Feels great. High around 70 with the rain ending about now. Not a great day for the lake so we are heading up to our property which is about 20 miles away. We will be doing some casual plinking plus sighting in a rifle and a revolver. Sounds like a great day.
Yesterday we hit the beach with the dogs. It wasn’t warm enough to motivate me to go swimming but it didn’t stop the dogs. A good time indeed.

I don't know yet. There is a problem since I have an artificial aorta that the Mayo installed five years ago. Carol is in contact with the surgeon who did it to find out if it complicates the surgery.
"The Golden Years", yeah, they cost a lot of gold to get through.

A brisk 47 here in camp this morning. Had to run the furnace for a bit when we got up. Yesterday we got the wind storm predicted and the lake was rolling with whitecaps. Good day to stay off! Had a little rain Tuesday night but it didn’t amount to much. Today is supposed to be in the 70’s with light to medium winds so we’ll probably take the dogs to a beach somewhere via boat.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was so large they had to do an open surgery. It was done last night about dinner time and I am home now with meds and an ice pack.
It was so large that a portion of the colon was involved and they were afraid they would have to take some out, but thankfully they
didn't need to. That would have involved a temporary colostomy which I surely did not want.
I'm glad to be home.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
good to here you are on the mend
our second day back home has been a busy one ..... on Monday we purchased 2 bushels white half runner (old school string and snap) green beans at the Farmer's Market in Asheville .... yesterday (Tuesday) I started stringing and snapping them .... today (Wednesday) between driving to two doctor's appointments and taking our Sportchassis in for its required safety inspection, I kept at it while Maureen canned them .... tomorrow (Thursday) I only have a virtual medical appointment and we hope to finish processing the green beans .... we also hope to get a bunches of South Dakota steaks delivered and get serious about moving stuff from the camper back into our home .... with temps just under 100, its taking us a while to get used to our area's heat and humidity .... all in all, we don't really believe we will finish settling in at home until sometime next week

Overcast,72°F, Humidity 94%
Wind Speed SE 10 mph
Barometer 30.05 in
Dewpoint 70°F
Visibility 7.00 mi
Partly sunny, with a high near 84.
Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
Showers and thunderstorms likely.
I'm glad to be home although the nurses treated me very well.
I am sore as hell but sitting here with ice on the incision and taking pain pills.
I'm also banned from any heavy work for a month so the son in law is coming
out to do the mowing and such.
We did go to beer and wings last night with the gang from the gun club but I had
no beer or wings. Just a diet coke and a cup of wild rice soup. They were astonished
that I was there. I'm a tough old goat.

Tougher than me Coop, I’d be home whining.
47 again here in camp but we’re looking at a high in the upper 70’s and sunshine. Light winds which is a nice change from the last two days. Stayed off the lake again yesterday as it was too windy. But today we’ll be hitting the water and taking the dogs to a beach for a swim. Last full day in camp so tonight it will be grilled New York steaks and grilled baked potatoes accompanied by a gin and tonic or two.

We need to run to the big city for booze today. Labor Day Weekend you know.
When we do we always have lunch at Red Lobster. The menu has changed a lot
and the food is very good. They're closing so many that we want ours to stay in
business. There are no seafood restaurants in Minnesota other than them unless
you're close to Lake Superior and then it's fresh water fish.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
A tad bit warmer here in our last morning at camp. 56 and sunny and today starts another heatwave with temps today in the low 90’s and increasing to the mid 90’s this weekend. Then the upper 80’s all next week. Yuk.
Packing up and heading home today and it’s been a fun trip.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
most of yesterday and today was spent canning a couple of bushels of white half-runner green beans .... they were purchased in Asheville at their Farmer's Market on our way back home from South Dakota .... they are old fashion string and snap green beans that my family raised while I was in growing up and (for me) are what a green bean is supposed to taste like .... we've put up 41 quarts and 32 pints

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
First morning back at home. In camp I was able to sleep most mornings until 6:00 and one morning until nearly 7:00. Now back at home I woke up at 3:30 and started thinking about pending chores and bam…….no more sleeping.
53 here this morning but today will get hot mid 90’s anyway. Hotter tomorrow then the upper 80’s the rest of the week. I love September but so far I’m not loving this one…..ugh!
Today the WSU Cougars play the first game of the season here at noon. Sounds like a good way to spend a hot afternoon, inside staying cool and watching college football.

57 here too Coop.
Hot later with a high in the mid to upper 90’s. Not loving this. The hot all week. Come on fall, get here! Nothing finer than overnights in the 40’s and highs in the lower 70’s.
Got the RV washed yesterday before it got hot and this morning I have the same plan for the boat.

Morning, and welcome to Sept., we started the day at 72, up to 75 now.
Humidity is 93%, quite sticky out there.
With a whole 1 mph breeze, but Hey, only 83 for the high.
Dove season opens at noon, but
it'll likely be raining by that time.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I need to do the same thing but to be honest I've been so sick for a long time that I haven't had the energy to get it done.
They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me but it turned out to be a very large hernia into which my colon had
intruded. I'd get sick to my stomach and at the same time have severe muscular pain in my abdomen. They now think this
had been going on for months and maybe years. I feel a lot better now.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
91 feeling like 101 as this is being typed .... much relieved to see the predicted high for the next two days is 81 and that it drops to 78 for the for each of the following 2 days .... no more 90 degree days shown in our long range forecast .... the oppressive heat we've experienced every since our arrival back home last Monday have prevented us from completing our unpacking .... hopefully we will soon be able to put things back in order so that we can move on
