Is everything ready to fold up?

Yesterday may be a taste of more to come. First stop was our grocery store and there wife and I standing in line with only the one register open while the frozen stuff thaws. One employee has to stand guard around the self checkout lanes while another is roaming around. Guess nobody wants to check out groceries on a Thursday morning.
2nd stop after lunch is to our credit union so I can make changes to handle my wife's account and bill pay. We walk in and I explain visit and young lady says our systems are down and they can't do anything. Seems every time I need to get something done there I drive up to find SYSTEM DOWN! You don't know until you get there.
3rd attempt to live in 2024.... Called my Vet clinic to get Buster in for his vacs. and a pill refill. Well young lady says due to them not finding/employing a full time doctor I can't get him in until September 4 Now if they are open on a Saturday they close on next Weds.
However they were closed last Sat. and Weds. and again this coming Saturday all due to no Doctor being in the house. Not many young ones want to be Vets anymore I guess.

Things we grew up with taking for granted are now going away to some kind of 3rd world life. I also notice a LOT of familiar businesses/store chains are shutting down places around the country.
During the week days I see young people driving around middle of the day in new looking vehicles and think where and what hours do these people work? When I was busting butt I was at my job during these times 6 days a week and when I took a day off the streets would be almost empty!

Well let's see if my CU will be open today!

I hear ya. I see help wanted signs all over the place and young people roaming around seemingly with plenty of
cash to spend and no sign that they have a job. We also have businesses closing down and empty store fronts all
over the place.
I don't understand what's going on.

My wife was out with her cousin the other day and she commented to me how many businesses she saw that have recently closed including some bigger stores. It’s sure a different world today and seems to be getting worse all the time.

I heard a campaign song yesterday singing “we ain’t going back to that” followed by a speech about more free stuff.

My daughter is starting her PhD program, she was talked out of being a vet by other vets.

Also, a lot of good products are disappearing from the shelves (discontinued).

Things are changing out there and only add to my prediction of a bust. It sure seems slow to happen, but I've been planning on it for a couple of years now. The dam can only hold back so much water.

My best friend told me he asked his investment broker what to buy and the broker said "Canned goods and ammunition".

Voting wisely in the coming national election is critical for the future of our Country.

I'm glad to hear you made out at the credit union. I too had noticed a change in veterinarian services locally.

I also see more physician's assistants and nurse practitioners than I do actual doctors. I remember that trend being predicted about 15 years ago.

We have recently had the good fortune of our vet adding a second Doc to the staff. We have a great Vet school at Washington State University and both the “older” vet and the new guy (who’s wonderful btw) are graduates of WSU. Our pup is scheduled to loose his manhood next month so a visit for him is pending… (poor little guy)

I don't know how it is nationwide but our only local large animal vet wants to retire but can't find a vet to take over his practice (there is one other horse vet but he only does horses). Seems most new vets want to work in a nice air conditioned office seeing cats and dogs instead of doing farm calls.

The vet we used, when we still had pets, semi-retired selling out to corporate chain. Fees sky rocketed. If the pets vaccines aren't current, you're required to get them current to stay on as a pet patient.

The world went plum crazy for sure. Costs are up more than my raise, and under the tutelage of my Grandparents I have strived to live below my means. They went thru the depression, and kind of instilled in all of us it could happen again. I invest in precious metals, Gold, Silver and Lead. But the last few years have been harder. We will come thru it, we always have, just hope it doesn't take what it took in the 40's to do so.
