I'll post some soon, but l didn't finish the inside. It's my workshop.😉😉
The tech said I could paint it... I just didn't.

Here is a good picture of the shop interior that gives you a feel for the look of the spray insulation without any finish applied. Where needed, I mounted a few boards over the insulation to provide tool storage, but for the most part, I just placed shelving in front of the walls with an inch or so standoff to protect it. The only thing I regret is NOT taking a series of photos to show the run of the wiring BEHIND the foam before it was sprayed. I fully intended to do so, however the contractor showed up a couple days early as he had a job that took LESS than expected and gave me a price break if they could knock out MY job that day. He sprayed the woodshop and the garage on the same day.

The other major change I made was after installing the mini-split I was losing a lot of heat and air thru the large roll aside door. I had sealed it with spray foam and coming in and out thru the attached boathouse on the side of the woodshop, a real pain.

I ordered double doors, opened the roll aside door and framed a new opening.

Installed the frame in preparation of installing the door.

Insulated and sealed the wall, installed the door and trimmed it up, then framed and poured a ramp.

Got the trim painted as well, and the Sign Up... Signs are important.

Between the spray foam and the mini-split, the building - in spite of sitting in the direct Oklahoma Sun, stays at 68 to 70 degrees depending on where I set the temp, YEAR round. The cost is minimal. If I had to guess, based on the KNOWN increase to my bill from the larger shop in VA, I would say, $30 per month.

You're welcome. Btw, Miss T and I did most of the work in short sessions. But, when it came to final adjustment of those double doors I installed... After ninety minutes of trying, lots of language I can't post here, and failures... I called my guy.

He drove over, and having hung hundreds in the last twenty years, had it properly adjusted in a half hour. Sometimes I admit defeat, and call in a pro. 😊😊

I’m trying to save money and will install an electric rollup garage door opener myself. The spray insulation I’ll leave for the pros but the door insulation kits I’ll do myself. I’m hoping to finish it before fall which in Wisconsin is really winter.

The slope from my level spot is eroding. It’s more than 30 feet from the edge of my garage and 50 feet in front of it so the garage is not in any danger. It should harden over the winter and I suspect next year I won’t have any problems.

All my spare time is going into this project. I eat, dream and sleep it.

Although probably rather expensive, I would consider surrounding that berm with riprap or boulders. Might look nice as well. JMO

Maybe think of putting out grass seed and covering it on the slope with landscape burlap. The burlap would limit erosion and provide germination cover for the seed.

I’m thinking boulders but not for now. I could easily spend $5K on rocks just for that part and it wouldn’t be all that visible. I’d rather put the $5K into rocks for above and below the road where it’s very visible.

Birdsfoot Trefoil is what the county uses alongside the roads. It will grow anywhere and the root system is great at preventing erosion. It’s best seeded on top of a foot of snow in the spring.
