This is from the Hodgdon #27 manual which is over 20 years old.
Hodgdon.jpg
Thank you for posting that. I wrote that up late, and I am pretty sure I typed some errors. For example, the 300grns should be a max of 22.1 grains, not 22.3. I also typed 250 grain hornaday when it is 240grn mag.

I'll pull a few of the 300's today and see if they are 22.3 or 21.8 as my load notes say.

I do most of my velocity testing via my freedom arms model 83 454c. I'm not to worried that the pissing hot 45c loads will be much of an issue for it compared to the moderately *tame* 454c loads i've fired.

Didn't load anything, took inventory of 38 special and 357magnum that's already loaded. Filled an ammo can when all gathered up. Have enough for few weeks of range visits.

Cleaned my Ruger Blackhawk convertible the other day. Been shooting some 9 mm out of it. Got some 10 mm brass in bound so will prep that for reloading.

I've been working on some 300 black out rounds last week. 220grn eggleston, and 220 berrys. Prior to that I ran all my spent brass (sans, the bulk of my 38spl,10k,) through the tumbler and dryer. Tons of 308, 300blk, 45 colt, 38spl, some 357, lots of 9mm, etc.

Yesterday afternoon I deprimed the 100 PCs. of 223 that the SIL shot while here a couple weeks ago.
Then I sized, expanded and primed 135 PCs. of 357 brass.
Probably start stuffing those with some of the Zero 125 gr jsp's that I recently picked up this afternoon.

After cleaning, I prime and store my brass in boxes of fifty for reloading. I currently have 17 boxes of primed 357s waiting for their turn at the press. None are nickel plated.

I've slowly been discarding all of the nickel plated brass. I put up the last of it this morning ( 50 rounds / 13.9 grains H110 / 158 grain ZERO JHPs). They won't be coming home again.

I plan on taking a couple of revolvers to the range on Sunday. It's been way too long and it's forecast to be a beautiful, crisp sunny day.

CT, I have nickel cases only in .38 spl. I don't care for them, but, got 1200 of 'em in a trade some years ago. Between those and the regular brass cases, could be a while before I use 'em all up!

Randy, what powder you going to use in those .357?

I dabbled with some H110 a couple days ago, and one of the loads looks promising at just a hair over an inch spread at 50 yds., but quite high. ;)
I will play with some 2400 and Blue dot also. I'm definitely going to need to replace the front sight if I want to shoot these at 50 yds. that's for sure.
Here you go, a couple days ago, probably going to be hard to beat that, but one never knows. 😉

Well, I'm finally getting around to loading some of these 125gr Zero bullets today. Two different powders and 7 different loads.
2400 is 17.5 to 17.9 and 4 different loads of blue dot, 13.5 to 14.1.
Then loaded up on some lunch right here also. 😉

I really don't remember the last time I saw any, but pretty sure I did last year.
I have one full lb. and this one I'm using at the moment which is if I had to guess is close to half.
I only use it in the 357 and 41 mags., I can usually get similar results using cast in those two with a little less BD than 2400.
When this is gone I may or may not buy any more, but who knows what the future will bring, it may be available and 2400 may not or could be the other way around.

2400 and BD both being Alliant powders, it's gonna be tough soon enough I'm afraid. :(

At the moment, other than the canisters I'm dipping from.
I have one other lb. of BD, 2 extra of Red dot and an extra 4lbs.. of 2400.
Also 4 extra lbs. of Unique. These are the main ones I use for the pistol calibers.

Other than BD, I have the same and some BE-86, Universal, Red Dot, Universal and 231. As soon as I read that Alliant was scaling back to handloaders, I bought some back-up powders to cover my a**.
