When you fire off a round do you notice sparks coming from around the outside of the cap?

Nope not me. Only when I fire off the rock lock do I see sparks. And lots of that good smelling smoke to. I can smell it right now just talking about it

I have three, no make it four that I shoot and I've never noticed any sparks that I recall.

I have fount that even when shooting my flintlocks that as long as I stay with the front sight I never see the flash in the pan.

Nice little collection there buddy.
I have 3 1851's, 2 in .44 and the third is a .36
Then there's the other two .44's, the 1862 Army and an old 1858 Rem. kit gun that's never been blued that I bought at an estate sale a Long time ago.
It get's shot more than the others and has a small 6 point buck with it's name on it. ;)
