I don't think a refrigerator would even slow it down. Considering the damage a 50BMG (especially a armor piercing round) can do to a engine block I'd want to be behind a solid concrete wall (or 2) and standing behind or in a very heavy duty safe.

Seems like a waste of time and money to me but in any event, I would not shoot it. I want my retinas to stay attached.
