53 and partly cloudy. There’s a suggestion for a little rain later but it’s a pretty slim chance. Another warm one with highs in the mid 80’s. Another chance of rain tomorrow, sure hope so.

Got the rv all cleaned and ready for the next trip yesterday and it’s put to bed back in the shop. Today we are installing some temporary fence in the back yard. I did a bunch of re-seeding and hole filling from the puppy’s exuberance. Plan is to route him to the lower section of the backyard to do his destruction. Dogs, gotta love them regardless!

Overnight the flood waters have moved slowly towards the Pie Store. My late Mother who was quite religious used to
say, "Lets go to the Dam store for a piece of Damn pie", and then she'd laugh.

This is yesterday and the house is still there.

I was just now watching a live report and on camera we could see soil sluffing off just downstream from the store. So sad.

Interesting the area is called Mankato. Here in Eastern Washington State there is a mountain in the NE corner of the state called Mankato. I used to elk hunt up there and I always climbed to the top of Mankato. From there I could look into Washington, Idaho and Canada. There was an old partially burned sign with the mountain’s name on it. Sure wish I had a picture but this was before cell phone camera’s.

Fingers crossed for the dam Pie Store.

RAPIDAN DAM STORE FAMILY RELIEF FUND
The family who owns The Rapidan Dam Store has now lost their home due to the river eroding the west abutment. Their home fell into the Blue Earth River on Tuesday June 25th at 9:28pm.
The Rapidan Heritage Society has started an account at Minn Star Bank in Mankato for The Rapidan Dam Store and the Hruska Family.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE RAPIDAN DAM AND DAM STORE
THE DAM STORE:
The Rapidan Dam Store has been in operation since 1910, when the Rapidan Dam was first constructed. The Hruska family has owned and operated The Dam Store for the last 50+ years and have no intentions of changing that now. The Dam Store is well known nationwide for their amazing homemade "Dam Pie", all of which Jenny Barnes makes herself every night, as well as their "Dam Burgers" and "Dam Shakes".

Today I’ll be mowing in the tree area and my trail to the bottom of the property. Then the lawn also.

I got the mowing done, but at a cost. I hurt my back last week. Pulled a muscle I guess.
I've been using ice and heat to heal it but yesterday I started getting muscle spasms.
Now that's something I've never felt before. That really hurts. I guess I'm going to have
to take it easy for a few days.

47 this morning which is a bit cooler than it’s been for the last several days. Had some great rain yesterday so it was a little bit foggy earlier. Now it’s bright sunshine with a warm 76 expected later. This weekend in Spokane the big 3 on 3 outdoor basketball tournament is happening and the weather is expected to be great for it. 4700+ teams are registered this year. Wow!

Got a bunch of mowing done yesterday after the big rain and that was great. But by the early afternoon it got dusty so I quit for the day.

Today we’re driving over the Coeur d’alene ID to look at a pontoon boat. I’ve been looking for a nice condition used boat set up for both fishing and towing the grandkids in a tube. The one I’m looking at today is a 2015 but in the pictures it looks in excellent condition. My wife is lukewarm on it so we’ll see.

50 with a light overcast now and as the local weather folks are still in bed I’m not sure what the latest forecast is. Last I heard today should be nice with highs in the low 80’s. My wife is anxious to attack the boat pictured above and give it a good deep interior cleaning. She loves this type of challenge and I just grin and shake my head and think how glad I am it’s not me doing that work.

No, just this one. When we got the second dog we decided we needed a bigger boat. First step to buying a pontoon was to sell the fishing boat. I listed it on Craigslist in early spring and had a guy looking for that exact boat contact me. Paid my price. I used the equity from that boat to buy this one and no longer have a boat payment. Yipee!

That’s hilarious James, well done! I know how much you “love” pontoon boats.

The Merc is a 90 with the Command Thrust transmission. The guy I got it from put a four blade prop on it to increase the rmp’s. It will be interesting to see how it preforms. I have never driven a pontoon boat so I don’t know what to expect. This one has the lifting strakes on the pontoons which I understand helps with performance. Just another old man wearing a hat driving down the lake with his blinker on!

Yeah, I got luck finding a buyer looking for the exact boat I had. Funny, my old boat went to Idaho and my new boat came from Idaho.
