Re: Range Report: daily plinking
Today was the best day for plinking. It was warm and dry with a gentle breeze and most important no mosquitoes.
The CZ 452-2E American in 22LR was the choice for the day. It wears a Nikon P-Rimfire. The ammo was SV CCI.
I haven’t shot this rifle since last summer and was wondering if I could hit the spinners at 50 yards. It hit them and they spun like crazy. My fears of not being able to hit it erased as I hit it every time.

Good glass on a good rifle equals good results.
Those poor spinners look like they have had better days.

The CZ is the right tool for the job if you want to hit those spinners every time. Great rifle.

All the misses are from iron sights.
I’ll try another CZ with iron sights. I was having a hard time hitting them with the Henry with iron sights at 50. Most of the hits before we’re from 25 to 35 yards.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 10:54 amThe CZ is the right tool for the job if you want to hit those spinners every time. Great rifle.

Re: Range Report: daily plinking
Another fun day of plinking. I’m really liking the upper berm. The grass was getting tall so I mowed it. I was reluctant to mow it because my lawn is already about five acres.
First up was my Henry Mare’s Leg in 22LR.
I bought a cheap shooting rest and it worked perfect except I have to lift the firearm to work the lever.
I really like the Steven’s 3-hole peep.
Next was a Ruger Charger Mare’s Leg wearing a Weaver Classic 2.5-7x28. It’s not an El Paso but rather made in Japan. Surprisingly I could hit the spinners at 50 yards. Being a semi-auto the rest was more user friendly. Especially with the rotary mags.

Re: Range Report: daily plinking
I was supposed to get another dozen loads of gravel delivered today but after one load they reported their front loader broke down. I had no other plans for the day so I brought a few 10/22’s up the hill and did some plinking.
Top to bottom: vintage rifle from the first full year of protection. A later fingergroove sporter and a fairly new Charger.
I’ll be glad when the garage is up so I can store accessories in it instead of walking 150 yards up the hill.

Very nice place to just plink the day away! Is that boulder your distance marker?

The snow wand on the right is the marker. The rock is a don’t hit my table on the side of the road reminder.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 7:19 pmVery nice place to just plink the day away! Is that boulder your distance marker?

It's another rainy day here and I decided to do a little gong rattling with a couple of the 92's.
An original Winchester from 1912 or 13 in 25-20 and one of the Puma Rossi 92's, this one was made in '05 and in 45 colt.
