The power went out an hour ago after the wind and rain of this forecast proved to be correct.

Hot and muggy here today. Doing my stuff early. Only ten round bales to unload today and hay will be in... over last two days I unloaded and stacked 5 semi loads.. not so bad inside an air conditioned cab on the tractor, though the calf of my left leg is sore from all rhe clutching I'm not used too ... must be old age! Anyway...suppin on my coffee and glad today is a slower day!

What a night! I’ve been without power since midnight. The sky was lite up by lightning almost continuously for several hours. The rain gauge started the day with about 5.65”. It’s now almost overflowing indicating we received at least 2” of rain.

I left the RV window open thinking six feet of overhang would be enough. I was surprised this morning some water blew inside.

I feel for you Gene. The storms formed just east of us and hit you guys in cheese land.
We have massive flooding here in the land of tall taxes already. Thankfully our house is
well above the lake so we've not had any problems. A dam where I used to fish growing
up is about to fail in Rapidan, Mn. There is a small country store there where we would
stop in for coffee and pie and the owners house has already washed away.
Things are getting serious around here.

As far as power outages, we have a Generac so we don't worry too much.

Coop, Gene the best to you and all in the areas hit so hard by rain. Saw a dam about to collapse on the news this morning but I don’t recall the town location.

Here it’s 48 and sunny and we are expected to see the mid 80’s today. Maybe a little rain tomorrow but we are still way behind normal for rainfall this year. On Sunday we had a red flag warning for wildfire due to wind and low humidity. While there were a half dozen fires around none developed into a problem. However over towards the mid part of the state there is a fire burning that has already burned 16 structures mostly homes sadly.

Today’s project is a complete cleaning inside and out of the motorhome and getting it put away until the next trip. My wife has already washed all the bedding and towels so after the interior cleaning we can put it back into the “ready to go” condition.

Yup, that's the dam I was describing. It's on all the news. That's where I grew up and the dam is probably a hundred years old or more.
It was recently refurbished and was part of the power grid. I was once down inside of the thing on a tour.
The Dam Store was a local land mark and the water is getting close to it. The house is already gone.

Just saw the report on the news again. It is old video as the house is still there but you can see into the basement as that wall is gone. Fingers crossed for the folks downstream.

This is the Cannon River in Northfield, (that's the town of Jesse James fame), which is just south of us.
It was taken on a hazy day but the river is on a rampage and a lot of the town is flooded.

I can't even imagine the rainfall some of you guys are getting. Our average annual rainfall here is 9 inches and a half inch in 24 hours is considered heavy rain. We haven't had any significant rain for a couple of months and it wouldn't be unusual to not see any until this fall.

BTW, that picture of Northfield has that old building across the river which is the original mill house of Malt O Meal Cereals.
They still own it I believe but the factory is a few blocks west now and is huge.
Oh and that bridge would be the one Jesse and his gang crossed on. It's been modernized now.

I drove to Medford this morning and was surprised to learn the road I live on had been washed out. It was a major washout of a minor road and was fixed within a few hours. My power was out for a little more than six hours.
