Yeah, it was awful all that warmth and beauty. However, yesterday we paid our dues. Woke up in LaPine Or to 37 degrees. It was warm when we went to bed so I opened some windows. Brrrrr, had to go outside and turn of the propane to get the furnace going.

Back here at home we woke up to a balmy 48 and sunshine. Great to be home. 82 later today and a nice week ahead.

Glad you’re home safe. Lots of crazy people on the roads lately. And crazy weather too. We’ve had snow up high here a few times. It’s all 80s and 90s in the sun for the next week here.

48 on my thermometer this morning with bright sunshine out there. Highs in the 80’s today and upper 80’s tomorrow. Sunday we expect 80’s with very dry humidity and strong winds. Bad combination for wildfires. Fingers crossed.

More post trip chores today plus the dogs go to the vet. Our adult dog tested slightly positive for Addision’s Disease a few months ago. The vet wanted to do a more extensive and expensive test but we decided to monitor him first. He is still showing lethargic symptoms and isn’t eating as well as normal. We’re not sure if it’s just a reaction to adding the new pup to the family or if he has Addisions so today we’ll do the more extensive test. He will be at the vets for about four hours. Fingers crossed again. If he does have Addison’s it’s treatable thankfully.

We are now past the shortest day of the year down under. sunrise for us today is a bit after 7:00, sunset just after 17:00 10hrs daylight in the depths of winter still allows for a bit of work to be done.
25 while I am waiting for the sun to rise with a fine day forecast and a top of 55.
Pretty typical winters day for us overnight temps down to around 20 and daytime temps getting to the high 50's on a good day.
1/2" rain in the gauge yesterday morning it always keeps the overnight temps a little higher, 8" for the month. Our winter months of June/July Aug are some of our wettest, usually get around 8" each month and over 12" isnt unusual.
No snow yet, so far this winter is has stayed 1000-1500 feet higher than we are at the farm.

I've already changed out a leaky outside facet and done most of the weed whackin.
Got the garbage loaded and ready to go to the dump when they open around 9.
A short break for some more coffee and then to finish the WW'n.
Number 4 grandson is 4 today and there is a Big party on tap this afternoon.
One of the giant waterslides will be involved.

51 with a thin overcast this morning, feels good. Today is going to be hot with a high around 90 and then tomorrow a cold front comes in bringing high winds. 40 mph gusts expected and we are under a fire watch. Please not again.

Today I’m heading over to my son’s place to help him put a trail in around his property. It’s still green enough that I’m not concerned with starting a fire but in a month or so we would not be doing this. Not sure how long of a trail he’s wanting but his assignment was to get it all marked out with marking tape. I’ll be using this tow behind mower that sure is handy for work like this. I use it here at my place and also up at the property. We will be getting an early start to avoid the heat.

We have received about 1.5” in the last 12 hours with half it falling in the last 90 minutes. This is the total for the last 2 weeks.

When I first moved here the left side would have a couple inches of standing water. I had to remove a lot of dirt that trapped it.

No rain here in a while. It's dry and hot. Yesterday's high was 102. Probably hit that again today. Heat index high as 112. It was 68 earlier this morning. Gonna be another hot one.

59 this morning when I got up. Hot today and we are under a red flag warning for wifdfire. The warning is due to very low humidity (15%), high winds with gusts in the 40’s and temps in the 80’s. Way too early in the season for this, usually we see these type of warnings in late July, August and September.

So I’m leaving my wife and dogs here in the forest and traveling over to Idaho to play golf on the nice green wet golf course. Huh? What a selfish bastard I am.

Looks like another hot , dry day. 74 degrees this morning, heading to at least a 100 again. Got a mower to work on in shop, but the A/C in shop barely keeps it comfortable when it's that hot.
