Yes a winter 50 yarder and now a summer 50 and 100. They both need work to be more useable but I can still shoot on them. I still have an outdoor kitchen and greenhouse to build and then finish landscaping to do. It’s possible both buildings can be done this time next year with landscaping to be done the following year. I’m doing as much work myself and being the general contractor to save money. It really is biting into my range time.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 7:39 pmThat's quite the operation you have going there, Gene. So, you have two berms, now?

You have come along nicely with your range construction Gene! Like the .22 Ranch Hand too! Around here the heat and humidity is on with temps all next week 90's+ and if I want to shoot it will be from inside my A/C shooting cabin out the window!

I haven't done any plinking in a while now.
The two oldest grandsons and I did load some 25-20 the other day, but we've yet to try them.

I shot again today for about an hour. I put three stones at 50 yards so I can find it quickly.
I also walked around for new angles to shot. My goal to to make a three gun range where firearms are left at stations and you run from station to station.

Interesting 10/22 or is it a charger or both?

Great idea! I have 26 acres so I could make a long bike course.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 9:33 pmCan I ride my bike, instead of running?Sir Henry wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 2:44 pmI shot again today for about an hour. I put three stones at 50 yards so I can find it quickly.

You could make a very serious trail system with 26 acres. I've done a great trail system with 10.

Re: Range Report: daily plinking
I have a fat tire bike and I even know where the trail would go. I’m a half mile from the Timms Hill Trail which connects to the Ice Age Trail. Then there are miles and miles of snowmobile trails. Most locals allow anyone to walk on their land. Just stay away from the houses and outbuildings.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 8:31 amYou could make a very serious trail system with 26 acres. I've done a great trail system with 10.

Re: Range Report: daily plinking
In our county, bikes are not allowed on snowmobile trails, though that's mostly a concern for safety when the trails are open in the winter and folks are on their snowmobiles. Keep in mind, too, that snowmobile trails often cross swamps and marshes and even lakes in the winter when everything is iced up. You may not get far riding a snowmobile trail in the summer. With 26 acres, though, you can do a lot of riding just on your own property.

I wouldn’t doubt bikes are prohibited here too.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 11:55 amIn our county, bikes are not allowed on snowmobile trails, though that's mostly a concern for safety when the trails are open in the winter and folks are on their snowmobiles. Re: Range Report: daily plinking
I moved a rimfire spinner to the upper berm and placed a metal patio table and chairs at the 50 yard line.
Today’s firearm was a Winchester 68-22.
I could barely see the spinners and didn’t hit them once while I hit the trap every time.
The spinners are to the left of the traps.

Re: Range Report: daily plinking
I put up another trap but this time it has smaller spinners inside. I can hit the traps easily but the spinners are not so easy. I’m lucky to hit them once every 10-round tube.
This time I was shooting my Henry SGC.

Still in awe in your range set up. Wish we could do that, here, but way too many neighbors around.
Also, love the old Winchester.

Re: Range Report: daily plinking
I bought this place just so I could shoot on my own property. I was limited with the original five acres. After buying the additional 20.9 acres it increased my places and distances I can shoot. I’m currently set up to shoot to 100 yards and I could easily put up removable targets out to 300 yards. I have to make them removable so I can hay the field.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 6:20 pmStill in awe in your range set up.
