Pheasant hunt today
I went this morning for a pheasant hunt instead of squirrel hunting. Did a good bit of walking and not a lot of action. I told the guy I was with we wouldn't jump any until we were almost back to the parking area. He said why is that? I told him because that is where they were dumped out and they tend to work their way back to that spot after a few days. We jumped two about 50 yds. from the truck. I got one and the other didn't offer a shot. Left the 870 Remington home and used the 686 Beretta today.

Re: Pheasant hunt today
Many of the Sportsmans clubs stock Pheasant and Quail and the state DEEP stocks Pheasants annually. They released 2000 birds a few days ago and will release more next week for the last time this season. Every once in a while we get a visit from a lucky survivor or offspring, which is always a treat.
