Ya sat by the fire this afternoon and did some buckskin repairs. Nice quiet time.

48 and sunny now but it’s supposed to get very stormy tonight and tomorrow, 3/4” of rain forecast with winds and possible thunderstorms. Cool temps too. We had planned on leaving today for a campground on Lake Roosevelt to give the pup some campground experience but with this weather forecast we decided to stay home. Not much fun for the dogs or us to sit in the RV and watch it rain for a couple of days. So he will just have to learn on the fly. We do plan to take the RV to the grocery store today so we’ll bring the dogs and leave them in it alone. We’ll stand out of sight for a while and see if he starts barking. Our adult dog is fine in these types of situations so hopefully the pup will learn from him.

52 and rain. It has rained for the last 12 hours and I’m getting ponding in the usual areas in my gravel driveway. No big deal. After reading Coop’s report about 2” of rain I’ll humbly not whine about the .5 - .75 inch we are expecting, But, .5 is a lot of rain for us. Next up this afternoon is wind. 30 mph steady gusting to 50. So happy we canceled our pup training camping this weekend. Right now we would be sitting in the RV with two wet dogs watching the rain. The campground we were going to is heavily treed and while the trees are mature and have withstood bigger storms than this one my wife is very paranoid about a tree falling thru the camper.

If it improves this afternoon we are planning on going out to the Spokane Valley to take a second look at a pontoon boat we’re interested in.

Yeah, I’m getting to “that” age.

We want a pontoon boat so we can cruise with the dogs and beach it on Roosevelt. Our fishing boat was a beautiful painted black aluminum boat we didn’t dare beach due to scratching it all up. I sold it earlier this year for a great price with the idea of reinvesting the funds into a pontoon. The model we’re interested in has the rear fishing station with a live well and fishing seats. Should be fine for trolling big water like Roosevelt but I sure wouldn’t want to fish the shallows for bass with it. But we really enjoy trolling for the Roosevelt trout so it should work fine.

Just for your amusement I will once again tell you of my chasing around a snapping turtle in our pool again the morning.

I went out to smell the morning air when much to my horror a turtle is sitting on the concrete apron on the far side of the pool
looking at me. I thought, "Oh no, not again, please don't jump in!" just as it jumped in, or rather tattered over the edge
and fell in.

We keep a solar blanket on the pool when it's not in use so of course the cursed thing went under the blanket. I removed the
blanket and the turtle is now at the bottom at the deep end. I got my old net and waited. Eventually the pre historic idiot
swam up for air and went to the stairs on the shallow end where I was able to net the SOB. The net pole was already bent
from my previous encounter so now it's bent some more.

I was able to drag it's miserable butt out of the water on out the gate, shutting it behind it. It now refused to leave the net
and is holed up in the net outside the fence and my hope is it will go down to the lake and not back under the fence and into
the pool again.

I need to go out and see if it's gone.

So it's gone. When they want to they can move pretty darn fast. I only hope it went back to the lake.

Doesn't take a very large tree or branch to do significant damage, if the tree had fallen on it, it would have been totaled. Not my motorhome but parked in my driveway under a old elm tree. My insurance paid for most of the repairs but they deducted 30% of the estimate saying he was partially responsible by parking it under the tree. The tree is now gone.

Woke up to a cold 48 and light rain today. Drove into Spokane earlier and hit some pretty good rain here and there. I was going to mow the areas I don’t water at all and don’t mow very often today but just couldn’t motivate myself to do it. Took the dogs for a hike instead and now I’m sitting in my chair thinking about a nap. Had a though night of sleep last night stressing about buying a boat. We have a road trip to California next week and decided to wait until after to make a decision.

Went to bed last night and my heart was going absolutely crazy. It was like a jumping bean. Anxiety set in and I was up and down alot. I think I managed 4 hours of sleep while my heart was trying to be calm. I woke up at 7 and it was going nuts from one beat to skipping 2 then beating fast. To the phone I went and called my DR. he said get over here. Went to see him he did EKG sent me to the Emergency room. It was a fun morning.I feel better now as they gave me some meds to tell my heart to be cool. Its better now but I think Im headed for an ablation. Ive learned alot about hearts lately and mines broke but they say it can be fixed. They say I have a good heart but they didnt talk to my wife first before they told me that. Have an appt with the cardiologist in a week and more pills to take. Its amazing what they can do now for you.

I talked to a good friend of mine this morning and he has an arrythmia and they are scheduled to do a start over next week.
I guess they stop the heart and restart it.
He says then he'll probably get a pace maker.
