heavy overcast sky with no chance of rain predicted before late afternoon .... 66 on its way to 79 .... first up this morning, physical therapy .... this will be my last appointment in this series and it has been very worthwhile .... when I get back home we will finish packing the camper and truck, hook them up and head for the State Fairgrounds .... looking forward to this weekend's Got To Be NC festival --- https://gottobencfestival.com/ ... only concern, high chance of rain ....

Woke up to 56 which is abnormally warm for us. Nice bright sunrise to the east which is where the house windows face but when I stepped out there was a big layer of dark clouds to the west. That explains the warm temp as the clouds kept the warm temp overnight. 70’s today but windy and a big cooldown coming starting tomorrow. We’re heading out today for the north place and looking at the forecast for up there we’re looking at highs in the 50’s and lows in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. Good temps for the dogs to go for atv rides.

Planning on doing a bit of shooting but I may have to wait until we get home to post a report. If I put my phone in the window of the RV I sometimes can get one bar to hotspot to my I pad but it’s very limited for posting pictures.

Sunny today: high of 85 and a low of 53; currently 65. Think I’ll work on a new upper level for my train sets. School is out so may have some grandkids show up for lunch. Everyone have a great day 🇺🇸

I didn’t have my thermometer set up when I got up this morning but a few hours later when I did it was 43 up here in shooting/atv camp. We had a hard rain last night that being in a thin wall thin ceiling RV was very loud. Our poor puppy had never experienced this before and got pretty scared. Only took a couple minutes to calm him down.

Did a little mowing and other upkeep and here after lunch we are going to take the dogs for a ride. Then maybe some shooting.

Also took the dogs for a hike earlier.

Dewpoint 57°F (14°C)

Well, the brush cutting is done. Whew! Now today we will open
the pool. (Have I mentioned that we have a pool?), well we do.
Most of the neighbors have filled theirs in as the children left home but
we keep ours as it is a great grand kid magnet. It's only open four months
during the Summer but it is the center of a lot of family get togethers during that time.

Wow, 27 with a light frost up here in shooting camp. I knew it was going to be cold with a cold front in place but I was expecting the 30’s not the 20’s. But with the cold temps comes beautiful sunshine and as I type this the sun has crested the mountains to the east and is filling our pasture with wonderfulness. Don’t know the exact predicted high but probably in the 50’s. And there’s a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and that will be another new experience for the pup. :D

Another cold morning up here in shooting camp. 26 on the thermometer with a good frost on the grass and the chairs out on the “patio”. That was a couple of hours ago and now the sun’s up and feeling fine on the skin. Beautiful blue sky which I believe should be with us most of the day. The temp is not out of line with the area as back home yesterday it was 30. Hopefully the people who planted their flower gardens on Mothers Day didn’t get frost damage.

Probably take the dogs for another atv ride, yesterday’s ride went great. The pup is getting used to riding and we make lots of stops for him and Trey to run around and explore. Still my wife is keeping a tight leash on him in case he decides to jump overboard again

Another frosty morning up here in shooting camp. 27 but bright sunny skies that will wipe out that frost in short order. Today is supposed to be warm and sunny so yep, time to go home. Yesterday we didn’t get out for a ride on the atv as we kept trying to avoid rain and ran out of time. Today Mrs. Hatchdog and I plan to take the 22’s up to the range and shoot some spinners. Then pack up and head home. Or, maybe pack up and then hit the range when it’s a little bit warmer. Mrs Hatchdog will do just about anything with me as long as she has a bathroom and is warm. :D

It's definitely spring here in the mountains, had snow, hail and rain in the last couple of days. 40's in the day and 20's at night.

Back home again and it’s 43 and sunny. Nice day until later this afternoon when showers come in. Then showery on and off all week and into the first part of the holiday weekend. Should be a nice Memorial Day for folks. Today I need to get mine and my neighbors lawns mowed. They are in the UK for a couple of months. Got to get both done before the rain arrives.
