Church and then a Mother's Day Buffet at the Retreat center across the lake. We have
a table reserved for our family group of twelve. Some of the family are neighbors we
always include. Then they will congregate at our house for the afternoon to visit and
relax. It's a tradition and always nice.

as noted above, yesterday was a busy one and after the post above, it got even busier .... we had to rescue our daughter whose camper broke down while she was on her way home from the dealership where they had been working on its water heater .... our youngest son and his son were her working on our yard when the call for help came, so we all took off immediately .... bottom line, a couple of very nice fellows had stopped and were helping her when we got there .... she was trying to contact Good Sam towing, I'm glad she hadn't gotten through to them .... bottom line, it didn't take long to get her camper hooked up to our Silverado 1500 and we towed it home .... hopefully we can get it ready for our club camping trip coming up this weekend .... 59 now on its way to 77 dropping down to a cool 46 tonight .... our family is gathering at a local roadside ice cream place this afternoon to celebrate Mother's Day

I’ll be taking my 98 year old adopted mother to my adopted sister’s house for Mothers Day. It’s nice to be accepted by the long term residents. A few call me brother and I call them brother and sister. The vast majority call me cousin. There are three major families from the 1940’s and their kids married so many of them are actual cousins.

48 under beautiful sunny skies and there is a projected high of 82. Nice weather for all the moms out there who are enjoying a day outdoors. Tradition around here is to not plant your flower beds until Mothers Day and it sure came true this year. Just a week ago we have frost.

We had a great community cleanup yesterday and got lots done. I still have a load of limbs on my trailer to take to the transfer station today and after that I’ll be helping my wife enjoy Mothers Day. I be getting the motorhome out of the shop and then she gets to clean the interior. Happy Mothers Day honey!

50 and overcast this morning. Didn’t expect the clouds. Heading up to the north place this morning to spray weedkiller. Then on Wed or Thur we’re heading up for several days for some shooting and atv fun and to give the pup more time with the RV. In June we’re taking it to California so the little guy better be ready.

Canada is on fire again.

Not all of it, thankfully. But as Dave77 said, we also have a very low snowpack, so it will be a bit earlier for the fire season here on the west side. I’m happy my acreage is mostly irrigated, and there is a good sized lake on one side of us.

Most of Washington's snowpack is at 60% or less and I've heard that even the Columbia will be running lower than normal this year.

We are in a similar boat here. I’ve heard 60-70%. But realistically that only translates to an extra week or two of dry/fire season. We got a fair bit of late season snow in the alpine.

There was apparently a planned lowering of water levels in Lake Roosevelt this year to work on something around Kettle Falls. I guess they won’t have to let “extra” water out now.

already 78 and is supposed to rise to 80 ... no chance of rain today but a major change is on tap .... tomorrow (Tuesday) 90% chance of heavy thunderstorms ... the day after, 91% of rain and thunderstorms .... first up this morning, a mile plus walk in a local park .... after returning home I worked on our camper and have been trying to take care of adding a chinstrap to my standard CPAP supply order .... that has taken an inordinate amount of time and number of phone calls .... checked on our Sportchassis, they hope to have a needed part in their shop by tomorrow .... we are anxious to get it back for use during a 4 day camping trip later this week

The wildfires in Canada are making it smoky around here. It’s hard to breathe at times but sure makes a beautiful sunrise as I sip my morning coffee.

Going down to see my friend Eric, got a slight roar in the front end.
Possibly a break rotor or a shoe, I heard it a couple times last week.

ugly morning that's about to get a good bit uglier .... heavy overcast pretty much socked in by rain ..... 64 on its way to 70 with a 99% chance of rain/heavy thunderstorms .... they say we need the rain but most certainly not the other things that go with the strong thunderstorms .... primary runoff day, I most certainly plan to vote but have no clue as to when .... except for going to vote and a physical therapy appointment it looks like a stay at home and watch classic westerns type of day

Red, I saw a picture in the paper the other day showing the rock formations where the falls used to be near Kettle Falls. Pretty impressive.

46 this morning with a beautiful sunrise. Spent some time on the patio watching the day arrive and man are the Turkeys noisy. Poor Tom’s are losing hens to nests and are not happy about it. Nice day on tap with temps in the mis 70’s later. Today is golf day and it will be just about perfect. Heading over what’s called the Blanchard Hump to a beautiful course in Idaho. It used to be a nice drive but last years big wildfire in the Elk area burned here and now it’s a sad drive thru all the destruction.

Got my spraying done up at the north place yesterday and came home and sprayed here too. I sprayed the RV pad twice and the road into the property once. Lots of Canadian Thistle up there which is what you see on the pad. It’s a noxious weed and is hard to kill.

Good morning, 61 now and mid 70's for a high later.
Well, I was right about the truck.
Seems the squealer on the pad failed and the right side pad was into the rotor.
Left side was wore good but not into the rotor, but I replaced both rotors anyway and of course the pads.
Back to work as little to no rain in the forecast for today or tomorrow.

2.9 inches of rain from yesterday in our rain gauge this morning .... 60 degrees, if you look up, under a cloudy sky --- if you look at the weather radar, ain't no clouds anywhere close ..??? .. patchy fog this morning, none near us .... predicted high 74 ... 89% chance of scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms .... we have a couple of trips to haul trash to the dump this morning .... will pick up a couple of buckets of fresh strawberries along the way .... tomorrow we are due to head for the NC State Fairgrounds for a 4 day camping weekend so today we will take some time to get ready

Another beautiful morning here with 46 and a partly cloudy sky. Nice morning on the patio with coffee listening to all the birds waking up. Today is get ready day as we’re leaving tomorrow for the north country. Back home again on Monday, just a quick trip to do more puppy training, gun shooting and atv riding.

Thanks but all of that is north and northeast of Houston. It's been a problem in that are for years as both forks of the Trinity River are flood prone.
