We had planned to head up to shooting camp on Thursday but as the lows up there are expected to be in the mid 20’s until Saturday we delayed our departure until Saturday. Those 20’s would burn up our limited propane supply for the furnace quickly. We do have a heat pump that runs off ac but it’s very loud.

We've camped in the 20s many times and your heat pump won't work well below 40 degrees or so. We always carry a small electric radiant heater with us wherever we go. It does have a fan and will put out a lot of heat and save a lot of propane.
Course you need electric hook ups or run your genset.

Thanks on the info about the heat pump not working well below 40. I thought about bringing a portable electric heater along but decided not to. Two dogs with one being a puppy might be a problem and thankfully starting Saturday night the temps become more normal for this time of the year with lows in the 30’s not the 20’s.

It was a muggy and misty 74° this morning on the dog walk. My oldest son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter came in from Omaha last night. Their flight was supposed to have arrived in Houston Hobby at about 5:30 but unfortunately, a bird got sucked up into one of the engines. They had to deplane and wait for mechanics and engineer's to inspect it before they could resume. The got in about 2:00 this morning.

not so pretty morning with really nice 81 degree temp .... after breakfast we went over to a local city park and walked something over a half mile .... took Maureen's pup with us which has to desire to walk in anything vaguely resembling a orderly pace in pretty much a straight pace .... after getting back home I worked on reorganizing the camper's basement .... yep, I've mentioned doing that several times in the not too distance past .... I'll probably end up doing it over and over until we get on the road to South Dakota

Things are looking up around here as the temp at my place is 31 and the official Deer Park temp is 27.

Heading in to north Spokane this morning to pick up the jeep with the motorhome. This will be my first experience attaching and towing a vehicle behind it. I’ve towed the boat and the UTV with it and it tows great. Be interesting to see of the motorhome will keep traction pulling the 5,000 lb jeep up my steep but short gravel driveway. No problem with the boat and UTV but they are both quite a bit lighter than the jeep. If I have trouble it will get interesting as I read it’s not good to back up a towed vehicle and I sure don’t want to attempt to detach it on the hill.

Watching it snow with my morning cup of Joe. Yesterday it was in the 70's here and today in the 30's and snowing. Not much on tap today. Going to ride the basement bike and may do some more reloading.

Coop, have you ever backed up your Explorer with your motorhome and if so any issues? Thanks.

For a short distance a even further if Carol will sit in the drivers seat and keep the steering wheel straight.
The problem is always that the Explorer will want to turn the front wheels so if she keeps them straight I can
back up a lot further.
If you lose traction just start the Jeep and put it in drive. Better yet have the Wife apply a little power to
push you up the drive. Just a little though.

It was a warm morning again this morning and we should reach the upper 80's today. The kids took the baby to her first Astros game (lost to the Braves in 10). The Astros don't have the pitching that they had the last few seasons. Hader is not proving the worth of his contract as of yet. Verlander has been out for weeks and is supposed to pitch for the first time tomorrow. Urquidy and Valdez on still on the 15 day list. Garcia, McCullers, and Ortega or supposed to be able to return in July and Sousa is out for the entire season. I'm surprised that they've won as many games as they have.

Cold here to 34 deg. Might need whiskey later on. UPS is supposed to be here with my Dillon 9mm dies today so maybe I can pass the time reloading some 9 and 40. Got some 40 done yesterday.

Thanks for the tips Coop, push with the jeep, duh! Why didn’t I think of that? I did think about backing my pickup down and pulling if needed. But, thankfully no help was needed as the MH pulling the jeep scooted right up the driveway without a spin of tire. Interesting day with my first time hooking up a tow vehicle to the MH and it all went perfectly!

Another brisk one this morning at 29 and once again I have a nice fire burning in the stove. Thought I was done with fires a couple of weeks ago when it was in the 70’s.

Today it’s continuing to get ready to leave tomorrow for a few days up at the north place. Temps are supposed to get warmer starting tomorrow with lows in the 30’s and highs in the 60’s. Pretty nice for mid April.

73° and humid this morning on the dog walk. Even at 73° I work up a sweat easily with the humidity. The sun burns off moisture so the humidity this time of year wains as the day progresses. I've got a bit of work to do but will mostly visit with the kids. I don't know what their plans are for today. Yesterday they spent most of the day in the Rosenberg and Fulshear area taking in some of the local attractions.

Looking good Hatch. You'll find that dogs love to RV. We used to have an old black lab and she would
sit by the steps in the yard all day if she thought we might go and leave her. Sadly she's gone now.

I always put my electric cord over the top of the tow bar. I've seen cases where it got tangled with the
coiled safety cables and came un plugged. Then it will drag on the highway and wear off the end.

62 on its way to 81 with a 40% chance of thunder storms later this afternoon .... they say much cooler temps are on the way with Sunday's high only reaching 60 with a 74% chance of PM rain .... breakfast is long gone as is our morning walk in the local city park .... next up hauling trash and we do hope to work on our camper after getting that taken care of
