UFO SIGHTING!

I saw this bright orb in the sky yesterday and since I couldn’t figure out what it was I took this picture. Showed it to my wife and she thinks it might be the sun. But neither of us are certain as it’s been a long time since we have seen the sun.

Your help in identifying this strange occurrence is greatly appreciated.

35 heading to 40 today with cloudy skies expected. Maybe a little bit of snow on Friday and for the short term we are expecting temps to be more in the normal range. Long term the weather guy said we are expecting temps above normal and precipitation below normal. While that will be pleasant for us now our outlook for snowpack is dismal. Next summer could be another disaster like this area experienced last summer with 300+ homes destroyed in wildfires.

Today will be a day of highs and lows. The low will be a root canal and the high will be going to the Gonzaga men’s basketball game tonight. My brother scrounged up some tickets and offered me one. It’s nearly impossible to get tickets to Gonzaga home games so this will be a treat. Thankfully my dentist removed the nerve from my tooth a couple of weeks ago so I expect today’s procedure to be on the mild side.

we have a beautifully clear Carolina Blue sky with a temp of 48 at noon ..... predicted high 54, no rain .... around midnight the temp is supposed to fall below freezing and remain there for something over 8 hours .... if accurate, this will be our last below freezing spell for a week or so .... fried the last of our store bought bacon this morning ... just sliced a couple of pounds of our homemade bacon this morning .... had to fry a sample and its really good .... no plans to purchase any more commercial bacon in the foreseeable future ..... only thing on today's schedule is to pick up our 7 year old grand son at school and take him to a dental appointment

currently 35 on its way to 58 with no more subfreezing temps in the forecast until Valentines Day .... nothing much on tap, it'll probably be another day where we don't so much as crank a vehicle ....

Oh great, now I want a cookie or two and I know there’s none in the pantry as I ate the last two yesterday.

Woke up to 34 with an overcast sky but now with a nice fire in the stove it’s a nice temp here indoors. Maybe 40 today and then some light snow overnight. Nothing to be a big chore moving, perhaps an inch.

Not sure what today will bring but it will be a good day to get outside and get something done.

It's 65° this morning. I just had some cereal and coffee for breakfast. I've got a bit of work to do today. The wife is in Omaha visiting my oldest son, daughter in law and new granddaughter. She's sent lots of pictures already.
Later,
Jake

29 and foggy out there but hopefully that means that when the fog burns off we will see some sunshine. Fingers crossed. High in the upper 30’s. Yesterday was one of those days, rain, snow, hail, graupel but nothing that lasted or accumulated. Just a crappy day all in all.

The hatchdog family is expecting another baby. Pretty incredible at our age. No, not that kind of baby but this guy will be joining us next week.

We have been talking about getting a second dog and finally decided to do it. This litter of pups will be ready to go to their new homes next week. They are in Payette ID which is a six hour drive south of us. We’re driving down on Wed and back home on Thur of next week. Neither of us have ever had more than one dog at a time so this will be a new experience for us. Our dog Trey is 2.5 years old so hopefully this will be a good match. But we do keep looking at each other and wondering, “what have we done?”.

Winter has returned. Currently 22 but a high of 40 is expected. Dry day today with rain/wet snow expected for the next three days. Which is good as I have some outdoor work to do today getting the back yard ready for the new pup. At first he will be so small that he could squeeze in between the vertical rails so we will have to keep an eye on him. Also the ground below the fence is very uneven leaving gaps he could get thru so I’ll be putting some boards along the bottom to prevent that.
