the predicted cooling trend we have been told to expect is moving in .... 41 this morning on its way to 56 later today ..... cloudless sky .... no frost but the air has an icy feel ..... Maureen has a virtual medical appointment this morning .... I don't care for virtual appointments but they seem to be a sign of the times .... biggest thing scheduled for the rest of this week is an "End of Life Planning" meeting with our pastor ... this is a new one for us .... here again a sign of the times

Friends don’t let friends own Pontoons!

I understand. I used to mock those “old guys” and their mobile docks. I’m think that the interest in a pontoon boat one of the last signals that you have arrived. (At being an old fart that is)

36 looking at the mid to upper forty’s today. Spokane may set a new record high today. Forecast is for 55 and the previous record is 53. Crazy.

As Coop mentioned we are expecting that blue aura with some bright ball in it today. I could see the moon thru the mist this morning so I’m hopeful.

Mostly sunny, a low of 33 and a high of 48: currently 39. First time in a week we weren’t ina severe fog advisory, so nice to see the sun. Thanks to all for the well wishes, they may have to insert the food tube again and put her on a liquid diet again. Everyone have a great day!

I understand. I used to mock those “old guys” and their mobile docks. I’m think that the interest in a pontoon boat one of the last signals that you have arrived. (At being an old fart that is)

One of my friends here will turn 80 in April. He has a pontoon. I don’t know if I’m more surprised at the level of personal growth that lets me be friends with someone almost 30 years my senior (I’m actually not surprised by this), or someone who owns a pontoon boat!

I actually went out on their “boat” with them once last summer and held back my instinct to moo.



Before anyone names me a “boatist”, I will disclose that I was raised a borderline neglected child after my parents bought their first Trojan F36 Sportfisher. Followed by other similar fast, deep water boats, I am doomed to be a deep water / deep vee guy for eternity. Or at least until I get “old”.

I personally like pontoons. I have never personally owned a boat but if I did, I would not hesitate to buy a pontoon. As a freshwater boat they are very versatile. You can comfortably cruise, tow skiers, fish etc. I have seen some that will go 50 to 60 mph as well.
They of course are not rough water cruisers, but I have no desire to navigate the ocean. I've done that with my ex BIL. He used to race Cigarettes in the unlimited class. He treated me to a few hellacious rides off the east coast.

I have a very nice stand of Black Ash trees that are now being attacked by the Emerald Ash Borer.
Several trees are already dead and the rest will surely die as well. I have two very large ones that
will fall on our bridge when they come down, so yesterday we had a young man who does tree removal
come out and look at them. He agreed that they need to be taken down piece by piece so he will bring
his boom truck this week and take them down for us. He is a good friend so he is doing it at cost.
I wish I had a saw mill.

32 heading to the mid 40’s with some sunshine if this fog burns off. Had a real nice day yesterday but Spokane failed to set a new high record. Too much fog kept the temp down. Still for late January this is some pretty nice weather.

Heading out for errands today and play to stop by a boat dealer in the Spokane valley that wasn’t at the boat show last week. This dealer sells Lowe boats which as less expensive that some and more than others. I don’t think he has one in stock but Lowe makes a 21’ sport/fish with a layout I like.

Not much on the agenda today. I ordered a couple of knives that are due to be delivered today. Something I would have walked right past in the aisles during their glory days. What is it, perhaps they will show up in the knife forum section later today.

29 degrees this morning heading to around 60. Looking like a nice day, except for going to doc with wife for shot in her knees, and discuss her knee replacements. So yall know what kind of mood she's in today. She don't want knee replacement surgery.

36 and rainy heading to 46. Sure looking like we’re having an early spring. Been rainy for several days and that’s getting tiresome. A little bit of a cool down this weekend but no prediction for snow. Our mountains are is sad shape for snowpack and one area that feeds the Spokane aquifer is at a historic low. Currently 34% of normal and if this continues a new record low will be set.

Part of my shop remodel was to eliminate stuff I don’t use and I listed a tool chest with tools on the local trader page. Being it’s so heavy I included delivery in my sale. Of course the guy who bought it lives south of Spokane and I’m 15 miles north. So this morning I’m rolling it onto my atv trailer and heading south.
