45 now only supposed to get up to 48 later this afternoon .... no rain today but its supposed to move in overnight and hang around all day tomorrow .... flooding warnings are already posted .... major rain is supposed to move back in Tuesday with even stronger warnings .... we have a pretty good slab of bacon that is supposed to go into the smoker tomorrow, with the forecast that's going to be interesting

I didn't go out with the dogs this morning because of heavy rain. It's 60°right now at about 2 in the afternoon. I haven't really done much of anything today and have no plans to do so the rest of the day.

I'm about 200 miles West and a little South and that's about our prediction too. I usually just watch the 7 day prediction so hadn't seen the single digits prediction, looks like about 5 days and then back to more normal temps. We can use the snow but don't need the extreme cold.

well, as anticipated, rain moved in overnight and is still anticipated to hang around all day .... 42 (feeling like 37) right now with it supposed to get up to 56 later today .... we have bacon ready to go into our smoker but with the rain that ain't gonna happen .... with an additional run coming out in the morning, tomorrow we plan to keep our Ninja smoker busy most all day .... in anticipation of the next few days weather we grocery shopped yesterday .... with that being the case it may well be three or four days before we crank one of our vehicles

Typically our storms track to the NE more in Ranch Ropers direction. However once they hit the Rocky Mountains east of me variations do occur.

33 with heavy snow out there but with this warm temp I’m hoping the big accumulation won’t happen. Even if it turns to rain here at least out mountains will get hammered with snow. The forecast is still for arctic temps later in the week with high of 12 and single digit lows Friday. But one local weather guy who publishes a website says the model agreement about the blast is starting to disagree. Sure hope so, like dave77 said, we don’t need these temps.

I ordered a new workbench from Home Depot over a week ago and I was able to pick it up yesterday. I’ve been doing lots of preps getting ready for it and if figures now that it’s here and I can complete the project I may be married to snow moving equipment for a few days. Just nice to have a project to occupy me this time of the year.

It’s dumping here now. We were going to go to Spokane today, but 2 hours each way on the highway sounds unappealing at best, life threatening at worst.

I added a 250 sqft addition to my shop, so I will walk the dogs and then finish sheeting the walls and start moving some work benches and bench tools in. It’ll be nice to free up a bunch of space in the main vehicle bay.

How’d you make out with snow Mike? We only got about 1.5” here, despite it snowing most of the day. I talked to someone who drove down to Spokane from Grand Forks while we waited for the border to re-open (there was an “incident” on the northbound side that I suspect was gun related. It’s a VERY common thing for people heading from ConUSA up to Alaska to forget they are going to be travelling through a different country and not declaring firearms. The best part is when it’s handguns or AR types and they are loaded) and they said south of Chewelah was a gong show on the 395. They specifically said Loon Lake and Deer Park were a mess.

I’m going to spend the day tending the wood stove and moving my work benches in to the new bay in my shop. I got all the lighting installed yesterday along with checking the winterizing job the PO did on my new boat.

We got probably an inch or so but it was very wet. I worked in the shop for a couple of hours and wrenched my knee again so I didn’t shovel it off the concrete and now it’s frozen rock hard. Hope it thaws this afternoon so I can move it. I did drive to Deer Park and the road there was bare and wet. Yep, that stretch from Loon Lake to Chewelah can be nasty. Same for Hwy 2 north to Newport.

29 now with 32 the expected high. Another winter watch is in place starting Monday evening for 3-9” of snow followed by way below normal temps.

My knee is feeling better now so I’m going to spend a couple of hours out in the shop. I want to get my project done before the cold temps arrive as it will be too cold to work out there. No heat in it, just a metal building not even insulation. I see my doc about my knee tomorrow.

I have a couple of baseboard heaters I keep on the lowest setting to keep chemicals from freezing, and if I’m working I put a fire in the wood stove. Keeps it nice and toasty. I’m only about 900 sqft total, so it’s easy to get warm with the stove.

Awesome, especially the wood stove and the insulation. I hear you on chemicals, I have to move everything subject to freeze damage from both the garage and the shop to my basement in the winter. Mine is 1200 sf with 14’ sidewalls in order to fit the 12’ door for the RV. Sure is a bunch of cubic feet to heat so I don’t.

Yes, all my 71 years here so have seen a lot of changes. It was a small town of less than 20,000 when I was growing up. Now the Greater Wenatchee Area which includes East Wenatchee has a population of almost 120,000.

I drove through Wenatchee twice a week for years. I really like that area especially Lake Chelan to the north.
