BB forearm

Happy New Year
I have a Henry Non sidegate BB in 44 mag that the forearm has a bit of slop in.
When you hold it, you can feel and hear the 1/16" click as it moves.
What, if anything is the cure for this?
The slop is more annoying than anything.
Other than that, I am very happy so far with it.
I bought it used off GB and my daughter used it to take her 1st deer, on her 1st day, of her 1st deer hunt.
She is officially spoiled now.

As far as your rifle goes, is the movement up and down or back and forth?

I can’t answer your forearm question but I agree with the others that is a nice buck. Congrats to your daughter. Henry possibly would like that picture, they are big on “hunt with a Henry”.

My BBS 357 had a loose forearm. It was moving up and down slightly. I simply took it off and cut a thin piece of gasket material and applied it to the wood where the barrel rests. No more movement.
If it's moving back and forth, as the forearm was on my .22 Garden Gun, I loosened the metal strap at the front of the forearm and re-tightened it while firmly pulling backward on it. Again, problem solved.
Good luck. Should be a simple fix.

The forearm on my BB45 Colt was slop loose out of the box new. Found that the cap dovetail was loose in the dovetail notch in the underside of the barrel under the forearm. The forearm cap screws were still tight. I have an old curved tape from a broken tape measure that I have saved for circumstances like this. I cut a piece of it the size of the dovetail base and wedged it between the cap dovetail base and the cap dovetail notch in the underside of the barrel. The curvature of the tape piece is spring-like holding the cap dovetail firmly in place under the barrel.

The slop is front to back, I will probably take a bit if rubber roof membrane and cut a piece for the front cap.
Thought I would ask on here if this was a common type issue and if there was a common fix.
Ammo used was Winchester 240 grain jacketed flat points , white box for deer and black bear.
Shot was 60 yards with buck slightly angled with left side towards us.
Her shot hit his rear left shoulder muscle, angled thru its left lung then the liver and exited.

Having preserved, restored and repaired high end belgan, french and english antique furniture for many years Id say go to woodworkerSupply and buy a stick of mosers epoxy. Its snadable and stainable and is tough as nails when cured (takes about minutes). Just mix a little together and fill the proper areas inside the forend, shave off excess and let cure. Afterward sand and use a little stain of your choice, maybe a little wax and youll never see it and your forend will never be loose again. Ive thought about using it to bed a 22wmr action. Pretty sure it would be plenty strong enough for that.
