I can understand that, Randy. Didn't they go the way of Wally World and quit selling handgun ammo?

I don't know Mark, they got pretty liberal and stopped selling the AR's about the time WW decided to stop selling handgun ammo.
I haven't been in one since and never will.

It's combination locks for me! I don't remember the brand but I recently looked at a electronic lock gun safe that the manufacturer claimed was EMP proof. If we have an EMP strike and everything electronic is fried how would anyone go about contacting the company to make a claim??

"EMP Proof"?

Nothing is 100% reliable that has two or more parts. Maybe "EMP Resistant" but if such occurs, that might be the time when access to the safe is most important.

Like Fool Proof. Most things are Fool Resistant.

As I recall, some years back, the CEO of Dicks not only discontinued the sale of MSR's but ordered that those in stock be destroyed. If I recall correctly, about a million dollars of inventory was involved.

If I were a member of the board or a shareholder, I would have demanded his firing but since I am neither, I haven't set foot in a Dicks store in years and have no plans to do so. They have nothing I need.

If my memory is bad, please correct me.

They have nothing I want. I visited one about a year ago and found their products to be overpriced and cheaply made in other countries. I could not find a single item that was made in the USA.

I have two, one rotary dial and one keypad. I must admit I keep my defense rifles in the dial safe. (Yeah, I wear a tin foil hat from time to time )

I have a picture of a Dicks store with the name changed to another word. Since it’s both not safe for work or family friendly I won’t post it but I’m sure you can figure it out. It’s related to their anti-gun position.

On occasion I used to buy ammo from Dicks's. After they quit selling guns and ammo. I haven't been in a store since. Nothing else there I had a need for.

I spent 2 years training in locksmithing and electronic security. I currently own a Winchester safe with electronic keypad. Most of the later electronic safes do not store the combination in the keypad. So, if one goes south, you can order a new keypad install it and punch in the combo and it should open. I ordered one with a key back up so if the keypad fails, I just twist it off and insert the key. Safes are like automobiles everyone has their favorite. That said they all do the same thing by keeping honest people honest. Also, once a safe is drilled and then plugged it is no longer considered by the manufacturer a viable safe. Where and how you install your safe is the second most important issue to keep your precious guns safe.
