We have zero snow now! Amazing. 45* today. Looking back at last year on this date it was -24* and there was 18” of snow. We are VERY happy with this years version! I should be going fishing today!

Our snow is almost completely gone too. The weatherman said that last year to date Spokane in December had 32” of snow (total snowfall not on the ground) and this year only 13” so far. That will probably be the months total as none is expected until January. 32 now with the upper 30’s and rain expected this afternoon. Nothing much planned for the day.

If you have never shot a round of skeet it will sure humble you. It sure is fun but it can sure make you shake your head.

I was president of a skeet team doing league shooting for ten years. President means you do the book work.
I've shot numerous perfect 25 rounds and a few 50s as well. Lately all I do is teach young folks how to shoot it.
You need to know the leads in your head before you start.

Station one: 0 and 6 inches.
Station two: 1 and 2 feet
Station three: 2 and 3 feet
Station four: 4 and 4 feet
Station five: three and two feet
Station six: 2 and one foot
station seven: 0 and 6 inches
Station eight: swing that barrel and shoot dead on.

Always shoot the house you are closest to first and let the other bird come to you.
If you do it right you will have one shell left. Shoot station eight again, otherwise
you shoot the spare shell at the first one you miss. You shoot it again.

Right? We did get one of their brothers on the last day of rifle season. This year was much more productive among my group of friends who hunt. Last year I’m the only one that got a deer (bow season off my front porch!), but this year there were some beautiful bucks taken.

You are way better than I am Coop. If it ever works out where you make it down here when Im here I will take you along to our club. I think the best I have done is a 21.

Weatherwise it's going to be a gloomy Christmas, but Carol has the house all decorated
up. I'm afraid to sit too long in one place or she'd have a garland and lights on me.

31 out there but it’s expected to get sunny today so we may see 40. Hope so. Just read on a local weather site that some of our mountains are only 20% of normal snowpack to date. And the extended outlook is for little to no precipitation extended into 2024. The future could be bleak in the drought world.

Nothing much on the daily planner for today or tomorrow. Son and wife are coming over for Christmas dinner so it’s going to be a calm Christmas.

Partly cloudy here on the third coast. Supposed to rain after noon they say. Wife has ham an BEANS BRM ready to go for dinner. Cornbread on the side. Always a hit with me. Right now its 68 deg and supposed to just stay right around that temp. The group in the park here has brunch and all kinds of Christmas activities going on. Need to go load some shells for the next lead in the air outing

It was 71° on the dog walk this morning and has since retreated to 66° at this posting. We're supposed to get some heavy rain later today. I made some pancakes and sausage to go along with the coffee this morning. The wife signed us up for a coffee club called Atlas last year at Christmas. We've been getting coffees from all around the world each month. This month's fare is from Rwanda and I can say it's very good. My favorite so far has been a coffee from Tanzania. That was some good Joe. I hope we can get some more of that soon.

Rained last night here on the third coast. Today some clouds are rolling through and supposed to give way to sun and 72 degrees. Im going for a bike ride. Got some 20ga loaded yesterday. No new guns will be under my tree. But I hope you all get one.

23 this morning with the wood stove roaring. It looks like we may have a sunny day as the eastern sky is looking bright. Not sure what the expected high is but probably in the upper 30’s anyway. Just some light running around to do today including a stop at the local grocery store to pick up the Christmas Day prime rib. Yum, can’t wait.

No Henry under the tree for me as my wife and I don’t exchange gifts. But it’s a good thought! Funny, she was looking at my Shooting Times and reading the piece about the new Henry Revolver and seemed interested in it. I’m impressed that she took an interest.
