Our Morning Coffee and Weather

It’s been freezing at night and thawing in the daytime. This morning the fog is so thick I may have to borrow Randy’s machete to slice through it. No snow on the ground now and not expected in the next ten days which means no snow for Christmas.

Off to church in two hours.

Woke up to 30 and some stars in the sky but as it gets light it seems like upper level fog is setting in. High today is 35 with maybe some sun later. Starting tomorrow we’re expecting clouds and with some rain/snow on Tuesday. Nothing much tho. We do have an inversion going on that this pending weather should eliminate. So far no burn restrictions that I’ve seen.

No plans for today so I had better find something to keep me occupied.

It snowed last night wind blowing, 10 degrees with windchill, perfect day for football, my Alma Mater SDSU playing Villanova in FCS quarterfinal game. GO JACKS! Everyone have a great day!

Hey brm, congratulation to the Jackrabbits victory and trip to the championship game. Sorry to report that I will be rooting for Montana as they play in the same conference as the local team Eastern Washington University. Also today the lady Jackrabbits take on the Gonzaga women on the basketball court. Lots of SDSU connections for me today.

It’s a Grew 245. Made in eastern Canada from late 1800s to 2011, then the owner of the company shot his sales manager, and died in a shootout with police! Quite an end to the company! This exact model with hard top were used by the same police force (Ontario Provincial Police) to patrol the Great Lakes. I (pardon the pun) grew up with the brand. My neighbor brought home a brand new bright red (of course he did, he’s Italian) Grew 176 in about 1978, which is the year of this boat as well. I remember being in love with the lines back then. The one piece windshield is pretty unique to Grew from that era. There are two glass vents that run across the bottom of the windshield you can open for airflow, as well as the cuddy hatch, which slides forward.

Under the tarp is a Yamaha 4 stroke 9.9 with remote steering and controls. This thing is a true classic and once I clean it up and give the teak some love, it will turn some heads (old timers like us ). I looked at some late 90s and early 2000s Trophies, but I know they are built so cheaply. This hull is a tank.

41° around 6 a.m. on the dog walk. It's warmed up to 56° at this writing and should reach the mid 60's. I'm hoping that I might be able to get out on the bike around 3:00 or so after it warms up for a short ride.

pretty much has predicted, the heavy rain that they have predicted would roll in last night and hang around all day, is here .... it actually kicked in a few hours later than predicted but them now saying it will hang around for another 12 hours or so, that's a minor point .... currently 52 at noon with today's high only anticipated to reach 57 .... as can be seen from the weather radar screenshot of the area southeast of Raleigh where we are camped, no outside activity planned for today ..!!..

we are watching the Carolina Panthers playing the Atlanta Falcons in Charlotte where the weather is much like ours as seen above .... I'm pretty sure that our 1 - 12 Panthers are not going to make the playoffs this year

as has often been said, what a difference a day can make ..... our rain gauge at home shows we got just under 5" of rain yesterday ..... no sign of any wind or water damage is readily apparent .... today not a single cloud can be seen in the sky .... packing up day where we are camped near Four Oaks just off I-95 and then head home .... we hope to get on the road by 11AM, doing home should get us home well before noon ....

29 this morning and what looks to be an overcast sky as it gets lighter. Weatherman said we may see some sun today but we have rain/snow coming in tonight and tomorrow. Nothing that will need a shovel is the talk.

No plans today other than taking the dog (and myself) for a hike. Gotta get the motor running.

I had forgotten all about divinity. Love it! My Mom used to make it during the holidays.

Me too, my Mom made it with chopped black walnuts and chopped cherries in it.
I loved it most when it was fresh.
