Our Morning Coffee and Weather

6+” of the white “stuff” and still coming down but it’s supposed to stop about now. I’ll get out early to deal with it as it’s a wet heavy snow that will be difficult to move as is and even more difficult as it warms up to 38 today. The poor trees are complaining about the weight on their branches. Probably be some broken limbs but there’s no wind so hopefully no trees will come down.

My 7th ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s basketball team went into the 5-3 Washington Huskies gym last night and pissed away a nice “most of the game” lead to get beat. Grrrrrrr I think I’ll take out my frustrations on all that snow. Grrrrrrrr

at noon the predicted rain/storms are still on the way ..... not long ago I believe I heard thunder in the distance but no thunder clouds directly over our area .... in fact, some sun is peaking through holes in the clouds .... a local TV station just flashed a tornado warning for a few miles west of us but I can't see any sign of anything on local weather radar .... that radar does show us between two bands of active weather with several more on the way .... 65 now on its way to 69 later today and dropping to 36 overnight

UPDATE :

it appears that a tornado passed 10 miles or so west of us .... its path being shown on local TV would take it through some heavily populated areas .... conflicting reports are confusing .... guess it will take some time for us to actually figure out what happened

A frosty 32 degrees this morning. N/NW winds with a predicted high of 53. Got 1" rain from storm Saturday night. No bad stuff. No rain forecast thru Friday.

no short, no sandals today .... 37 now, predicted high 47 .... heavy rain moved through last night, we had just over 2.5" .... that rain is said to have helped but our area is still shown as being in a drought .... our camping club has its last 2023 campout this coming weekend ... looks like it will be dry but cool

33 and drizzly out there in the dark. High will stay in the 30’s so today will be one of those damp cold dreary days. Good day to do some outdoor burning. A nice fire and a hot cup of coffee is just what a day like this needs. So that’s the plan!

Oh ya, we ended up with 7.5 inches of snow yesterday.

It was a bit nippy at 33° this morning on the dog walk. The dogs didn't seem to mind much though. The red dog was really excited about the cooler weather and a bit more frisky than usual. Right now, it's 48° with the high supposed to be about 58°. I just cooked up some oatmeal for breakfast.

29 this morning is leaving us with the look of a baby snow .... yep, very hard frost .... high today predicted to be 52 ....morning trip to haul off trash and stopping for some spices and meds on the way .... the spices/seasoning are for a new project .... that being making bacon

It was 47° this morning on the dog walk. It's going to be a sunny day getting up into the upper 60's today. I've got a few clients dropping by but nothing really challenging. The city is still tearing up the road in front of the home. Yesterday they tore up half the road and poured new concrete and today they're doing the other half.

A dreary 33 with overcast skies and 91% humidity. But, wait until this afternoon when it’s going to be a….. dreary 37 with overcast skies and 91% humidity. Then other than Thursday when we may see a small disturbance it’s pretty much going to be the same for the foreseeable future. We are having an El Niño winter which will cause above normal temps and above normal participation. That generally leads to little snow here in the valleys but good snowpack in the mountains. Sure hope so.

Today’s mission that I reluctantly accepted is to drive my wife to the Spokane Valley where she wants to shop for our granddaughter’s Christmas Gift. Our dog goes to doggie daycare today followed by a visit to the groomers who are located in the same place. The daycare guy will take Trey next door for his cleanup. Long day for the dog.

above normal for the next week or so. So far this Winter has been
kind to our heating budget.

28 last night -- up to 35 at 9AM -- projected high 58 ... tonight's projected low 32 .... no rain .... we are scheduled to camp with our club this weekend so we need to getting the camper ready to pull out Friday morning

28 heading to around 33 or so today. Dry with maybe a sun break or two this afternoon. Then more of the same thru the weekend with some stormy weather coming in the first of the week. Not looking like a white Christmas this year. I’m fine with that but do hope the ski resorts get snow for the holidays.

My poor wife has a bad tooth that has to be extracted and then a bone graft done. That’s at 10 this morning so she may have a miserable afternoon. If she feels up to it we are planning stopping at Costco on the way home since we will be driving right past it. Got our granddaughters Christmas gift taken care of yesterday as well as all the pets on our list so that is done!!!!

Time for fudge.

It was in the mid 50's this morning and only made it to 60° with overcast skies and some light rain on and off. I've been ill today and don't have much energy. I spent most of the morning on the couch watching television and took a nap after a light lunch of chicken noodle soup. The phone kept ringing so I finally got up and did some light work in the shop.
