37 with an overcast and a light rain. High should make the mid 40’s today. Hoping to get back to my outdoor burning after loosing a couple of days to the wind storm. One day of winds and one day of cleanup. Sure hope the rain continues for a couple of hours to give the brush a good wetting before I start burning.

Heard on the news last night that the little commuter airport here in the Deer Park area had the highest gust for the area at 53 mph. Not damaging winds thankfully.

51 now, its supposed to get up to 64 later today .... looks like we are in for a warming trend to move in later this week and some badly needed rain for the weekend .... just returned from towing our camper to a local body shop .... she's 19 years old and while nothing is major it is in need of some TLC.... we are to call back Wednesday morning to see when they project being through with it .... its kind of odd to be home and not see it sitting out in the back yard

The coffee is coming. I think the Winter diesel is in at the truck stop so I guess I'll
take both rigs in and fuel them up and then put them away for a few months.
I want the fuel tanks full so they don't take on condensation over the Winter.

Morning 44° here with a 1 mph breeze. Barometric pressure is on the rise 30.36. They say in the 30s and rising is supposed to get the deer moving. Myself I've never noticed much difference.
Well, one of my pics made the calendar again.

our temp dropped into the upper 30's overnight .... at 9:10AM its already up to 51 on its way to a forecasted 66 later this afternoon .... we are scheduled to take Maureen's Blazer to its last scheduled appointment at noon with the fellow who applied its ceramic coating .... he wants to detail the interior .... he anticipates it taking about 2 hours for what he wants to do today, during that time we will run over to Sam's in Raleigh

34 and overcast now with sunshine expected later. Then tonight we expect wet snow and rain but no accumulation. Then a couple of sunny days for a tease before some weekend foul weather.

Had a good day with the burn pile yesterday. I’m down to one big pile of pinecones and a big pile of bark from my firewood splitting. Plus a pile of dead tree limbs which is what I use to keep the junk (pinecones and bark) burning. Today is a run around day so I’ll get back to it tomorrow and will appreciate the snow/rain to wet down the trees and brush again. Thanks Ma Nature.

We live to close to city folks here. Our town board is made up of people who left the city and then
brought all their stupid regulations to us here.
If I want to burn I need to get a permit and then the inspector comes out to check on it. If I just
light it off I am apt to get a visit from the Sherriff and fire trucks if someone sees or smells smoke.
I'll have to wait till there is snow on the ground.
I have big piles of branches ready to go.

Here within city limits we are not allowed to burn at all. Many years ago in my previous residence, I had a small outside fireplace in the yard. I built a small fire in it and sure enough the FD came by. All they did was wait while I put it out.
It was kinda funny though. They laughed and told me that if I ever wanted to do it again to just have a hot dog on a stick, or, start dancing around the fire and say it was for religious reasons. I guess cooking or religion is acceptable under those circumstances.
I think I would go the hot dog route...

Out of town but just inside the growth management boundaries. Don't burn when the Summer countywide burn ban is on but have found that burning at night and keeping the fire fairly small works.

41 on its way to 63 with no rain in central NC for the coming week .... this week before Thanksgiving has very little on our calendar .... that's most certainly not the case for next week

If I lived about a half mile south I too would not be able to burn. The Spokane County Clean Air board determines no burn zones and the closer to the city the more restrictive the board is. Also WA DNR has rules and regulations to follow and it can get pretty difficult to understand just what the rules/limits are. Thankfully for me I can burn debris from the non developed part of my property keeping my fire at four feet in diameter or less. Of course I have to follow burn bans from both the DNR (wildfires) and the county (air quality). Right now I’m good to go.

31 this morning with a light rain which is exactly what I need to continue my burning. Unfortunately I have a dentist appt this morning at 9 am so I won’t get the early start I like. Then nice sunny days until Sunday but it is expected to get cold again with lows in the 20’s. Extended forecast for the Thanksgiving weekend are positive for travel. We have our local son and wife and local wife’s cousin and hubby coming over. Short commutes for both parties.

It was 56° this morning on the dog walk and warmed up to a respectable 75 degrees. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee. I had a tire that had a slow leak in it so after servicing a client's instruments I took it down and got it fixed. They said it had a screw in it. Tomorrow is supposed to be overcast but no rain.

Coffee good..... new caliber i tried worked on deer yesterday. Now will work on trying to shoot a doe with a pistol just for a new challenge. I have takin deer with modern rifles in several calibers.. have gotten bow deer and muzzleloader deer... so now a new experience.... but for today probably just rest up from yesterday's hunt and bask in the sucess that i actually pulled it off..... (simple tasks for the simple mind.).... he he he he.
Ya know, .. old Elmer Fudd here isnt getting any younger....

The automated weather station seems to be off the air this AM so this is
from my own weather system here in the house. That's a really low pressure
reading and all this wind wasn't supposed to hit us till later today. From my
short career with the US Weather Bureau I would predict that a big change
is coming and soon. We are way above normal in temps and have been most
of the Fall.

I was with the Weather Bureau just long enough to get my preliminary license
and then a better offer came up and I left, but I always look back with a
fondness. They were nice to me and I enjoyed the work.

30 heading to 36 or so and currently overcast but I think it’s just upper level fog. Might get some sunshine today. We had a good rain yesterday that exceeded the prediction for quantity. Makes for good outdoor burning conditions.

I spent 3.5 hours in the dental chair yesterday having two crowns replaced due to cavities under them. Between the length of time in the chair and my unexpected mouth and head pain I didn’t get any burning done yesterday. But I did have the pleasure of meeting up with HRF member Redthies who lives just north of me in British Columbia. We had a nice chat and had I felt better could have shared a cup of coffee or a beer but I begged off. Great guy with three wonderful dogs along for the trip.

I’ve got a 6-7 hour drive to the coast for work today over two significant passes. Got a touch of snow here at the lake last night, so it won’t be quick. Towing my duck boat over for a potential sale while on a work trip. Deer rifle is behind the seat too, just in case.

Had a meet up with Hatchdog yesterday as he had some percussion caps for my .50 Hawken (Thanks again Mike!). I haven’t met a nicer guy in a while. We both marvelled at the quality of people on HRF. A tip of the espresso mug to all you fine ladies and gents!
