Our Morning Coffee and Weather

37 this morning when we awoke while camped just off I-95 near Four Oaks, NC .... its already up to 42 with a predicted high 70 later on this afternoon .... have had to transition from sandals to socks and shoes, from shorts to jeans, and from a light cotton shirt to a heavier cotton shirt .. .. as usual, we've enjoyed our time here and are looking forward to coming back in a couple of weeks ....

I slept in this morning. Guess I needed too. No coffee yet but Carol's little
black and white kitty named Oreo is down here reminding me that she
gets fed in the morning and I guess her master is still sleeping, so it's up to me.
I have the new RV here at the house and all Winterized and ready to put away
for a few months, but first I need to do some work in the barn which I'll do today.
We have one or two more warm days and then it gets seasonally cold.

I seem to be developing a habit of giving my morning report in the afternoon. Well, it was about 71° this morning and we're having another very warm day for late October. It's 87° this afternoon. I just had cereal, strawberries, and coffee for breakfast.

64 now... warm and probably rainy the rest of the week... looks like first frost early next week.
Coffee hits the spot now. Doctors appointment later today....heard a thing on youtube the other day,
I think it went like this:

I fear there are too many weak young men in our country now....hopefully, im mistaken.

Looks like a rainy day so I've got some inside work in the pole barn.
It's time to get my leaf blowers tune up and ready to go. I rig one on
my four wheeler and use it to blow off the drive way. they are both
back pack blower from Echo.
Our daughter and her family are vacationing in Ecuador. This upsets her Mother
because Carol doesn't think it's safe. Well, our little Grandson fell and broke his
right arm and now they have to cut their stay short and fly home because they
cannot put a cast on his arm down there. I suppose Carol will have something to
say to our daughter when they get back.

Sorry to hear about your grandson Coop but returning home from abroad is a good thing according to the travel alerts being posted. My son’e In-laws were scheduled to travel to Israel this week. Sorry their trip was canceled but happy they aren’t in Israel right now. My wife and I have always wanted to travel to Egypt to see the pyramids and other incredible sights and were just a few months ago starting to discuss it again. No way!

Here in boring old Deer Park it’s around 35 and overcast. Tonight we expect our first winter storm with a couple of inches of snow followed by several days of a hard freeze. Thankfully yesterday I got the last of the water type stuff winterized. Today I’ll clean out the gutters and put out my driveway snow stakes before the ground freezes. Heading to the dentist mid day so I had better get to it!

I just had a client come by from Ecuador. He went to the University of Houston back in the 90's to get a business degree. He went home to Ecudaor and opened up a heavy construction machine rental business. He immigrated here in September and told me that the gangs there are in control, and he had to pay so much in "protection money" that he couldn't make a profit, so he left. I told him I had a client who's father had retired to Ecuador and he stated that areas around Machala were okay where there were lots of ex pats but other areas were sketchy.

It was 74° this morning after a horrible Astros blow-out last night. (Very disappointing.). It's also very humid. The high is supposed to get to 87° by this afternoon. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Not much going on today, granddaughter started going back to school full time and Mrs. B is volunteering at local daycare, everyone have a great day!

OK, Carol corrected me, (again), and it's not Ecuador, it's Honduras they're in.
I actually talked to my Grandson last night and he sounded pretty good. It was
not a compound fracture and his arm is in a sling for now. The cast will come tomorrow
when they return.

We compared notes. I broke my left arm as a child but his is his right
arm. Yup, he's right handed. So am I.

He's pretty cool. He'll adapt and get by.

They fly home today and see the surgeon tomorrow. Grandma is not

We received a little over an inch of rain here yesterday. I was visiting Wausau and they received four inches.

Breaking news (not really), it’s snowing here in the Inland Pacific Northwest. Wow, this hasn’t happened since…..last year.

The local news is going crazy with roving reporters out driving checking on the road conditions and informing us what the school closure notification process is. All this for some light warm NON-STICKING snow.

What has happened to society that this nothing event is causing such a “panic”. 12 years of school here and the schools only closed once. Once!

Anyway, back here at the ranch here it’s 34 with a very light very wet snow falling that is making the lawn a little bit white. Temp is supposed to drop to around 30 by 9am so the snow might pick up a little bit. Next we will have a cold snap with lows in the 20’s. But the daytime highs will still hip the mid 40’s so for now I won’t put the chains on the truck.

Man, unless the DOT closes the highway we will be driving into Spokane and hitting the Costco today.
