34 was the low last night while camping. I turned the heat off and it was in the mid forties inside this morning. I turned the heat on while still in the sleeping bag and didn’t get out of it for a half hour. I like sleeping in the cold.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
47 this morning when we went to breakfast at the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach .... to say that the locals noticed would be a very significant understatement ..
.. most of them had on winter clothing from cap to boots .... Sunday evening we went to an excellent seafood restaurant that still offers a full seafood buffet .... I know that such places have always been expensive; none the less, I admit to suffering sticker stock when I learned their price was $41.00 a person .... Maureen ordered what proved to be excellent Calabash style oysters and I hit the buffet .... I ate more than enough crab legs to cover the cost .... they were outstanding .... Monday night returned to normal with takeout from BoJangles ..
.. we are now home and have the car unloaded

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It got down to about 44° this morning. The first time it's been in the 40's since last March. It's warmed up to 72° just past 1 in the afternoon. I'm not feeling particularly well today so I'm taking it easy. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

We love seafood but the cost of king crab has gotten so high that when we can get it it's too much money for my taste.JEBar wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 1:45 pmSunday evening we went to an excellent seafood restaurant that still offers a full seafood buffet .... We have started to purchase Dungeness Crab from Costo which is much cheaper and I even like it better. One crab makes
a meal for me.
The last time we were in Myrtle Beach we found a bar and grill in town that had steamed oysters with french fries and
hush puppies. There were about two dozen to a big kettle and they were outstanding. Add a nice beer and aaahhhh....

Wind Speed SE 6 mph
Barometer 29.63 in
A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61.
South southeast wind around 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
I slept in a bit this morning. Coffee is on the way.
I got a lot of the tractor work done yesterday and today It'll mostly be yard work.
Tomorrow our daughter's Father In Law is coming out and we're going to split firewood
for them while they vacation in Honduras. Our daughter thinks it's cool to vacation
in third world countries and worry her Mother.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
42 heading to maybe 68 later and again Thursday and Friday. Then starting Saturday our weather takes a turn to normal with rain and 50’s next week.
Time to get serious about winterizing stuff around here. Hard to do when it’s so nice out but I’m only fooling myself if I don’t.
I got the property up north all buttoned up yesterday including burning a couple of large piles of tree limbs.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was 52° this morning and should reach the low 80's by this afternoon. It's great riding weather but have too much on my plate. I've got to take the little old beagle to a vet specialist ($$$) this afternoon to see why she's coughing so much. Our regular vet hasn't been able to pin it down. The wife is taking off for Omaha on a surprise visit to see my son and daughter-in-law. She's having a baby shower Friday evening. Friday morning, I have to take the sister-in-law to her doctor's appointment for a mammogram. This will be the first time for me to get her ready solo since Robyn is going to be out of town. I'm not looking forward to the task.
I just had cereal and coffee this morning.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
back home, back to our routine .... well, I may be stretching the word routine .... medical appointments are all too common for us .... in this case the medical appointment is for Maureen's puppy ..
.. nothing major, one of the series of shots given to puppies .... 59 right now going to 69 later today with it dropping to 44 overnight .... first mention of rain is for it to fall Friday evening .... guess that's normal, on Friday we are supposed to meet and setup camp with our club for a 4 day weekend ..
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
75 tomorrow and low 70's through Sunday, seems unusually warm for near the end of Oct. Warmer here is fine with me as long as the mountains get decent snowfall this winter.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
51 In Clearwater Fl. this am and a high of 72 with plenty of sun. Makes me wish that I was 40 years younger with a building to frame.

35 this morning with what look to be clear skies. Record high today at 72, yea I could get used to this. But wait, there’s more: next week the S word is in for forecast with a possibility of some wet snow in the higher bench areas which includes me. Nothing that is expected to accumulate thankfully. But this forecast does motivate me to get going on winterizing. Today I’ll change the oil and filters on the boat motors and fog the cylinders. Already topped off the fuel tank and added stabilizer.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Since I have only 1 arm I had to hire a company to put a new roof on the house. They showed up this morning and boy are they noisy. Phil the dog is barking at all the noise. Everyone have a great day!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
A bit warmer today. It was 66° on the dog walk before sunrise. Currently it's 86°. There's not much work to do today so I did some house chores. I'm getting ready to work on a clarinet. BTW the vet visit with the dog cost me $1348 yesterday. I'm not happy about the price but there's no such thing as a "free dog".
