Looked like a beautiful day in Phoenix for the Shoot.
What would have looked really cool for the video would have been a helicopter shot of the entire firing line.

During the congrats chat Mr. Imperato had with one of the shooters, it looked like he was also wearing a shooter's number 462. Did my elder eyes fail me? Wonder if Mr. Imperato also took part and shot a Henry with the other 999 folk?

Sure would have been neat to participate....and brought home the commemorative Henry .22!

I just saw an article on Fox news....

The Guinness book of world records has refused to recognize the record.

Wish I had been there.

Three shooters had misfires. So it turned out to be a 997 man shoot.

And, if you believe that, I've got some excellent swamp land for sale in Louisiana. :)

I read that the Guinness folks didn't have a category for the record and didn't see a need to create one just for this event. Who knows?!

However, (and I know I haven't been shooting for very long and can't use my own experience as a benchmark, but...) I have fired more than 1000 Winchester M-22s and several hundreds of CCIs and Normas in my Henry H001 without a single misfire. I know it happens, but what a shame that .3% may have failed during this event. I'd be so bummed if I was one of the three shooters that won that lottery.

I saw a video today that said they actually had 1020 rifles on the firing line. It was done by a fellow named Hank Strange who has a you tube channel.
They took two shots and the first shot was more successful as far as everyone firing at the same time. There were a few slow shooters. The second official shot there were more late shots.
Wish I could have been there. Many of the shooters paid for the gun the shot and will get to keep it. But there are a bunch that will be auctioned off.

Here is a write-up about Guinnes' Refusal to Validate the World Record.

I seen some of the videos and my first thought was that they should have used a count system.
I wonder where the guns will be auctioned off.

It is a shame that Guinness did not step up and recognize this as a world record setting event. But surprised at their lack of interest......No.
Henry holds the world record in simultaneous smiles on the faces of people firing a Henry rifle. And Guinness can kiss me where the sun don't shine.
