Had a cold front come through Thursday night, 7.30am Sat morning it is 38 and feels like 30.
Predicted top for today is 55, winter is on the way out and we are looking at temps in the 80's by the end of next week.

48 and sunny this morning with a high in the 80’s expected later. Today I’ll get the motor home out and start prepping it for our departure on Monday. Not much to do really.

It’s forecast to be 83 at kickoff (4:30) for Sir Henry’s Wisconsin Badgers and hatchdog’s Washington State Cougars. Last year the Cougs went to Wisconsin and came away with the upset victory and I’m sure the Badgers will be hungry for some revenge. Line is 6.5 in favor of Wisconsin. National TV coverage on ABC. Go Cougs.

It was 77° this morning with 77% humidity. I thought we were going to get some rain as I observed lightening off to the north, east, and southeast of us. The rain managed to pass us by without even a sprinkle. We set another record high yesterday as posted above. Today the high is supposed to stay in the 90's so that may be some relief. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

After church we're going to journey to southern Minnesota to visit a female cousin
who is in Hospice with cancer. I guess we're going to say good bye. She's been battling
Leukemia for seven years now and finally gave up. Sad, but it's her choice.

Where are you going. With the fuel prices right now we're sitting tight.

I hear that and here in Washington State the price of regular gas is above $4.60. However this trip is to Idaho where the gas is about .60 less. I’m sitting on about a half tank (50 gal tank) so I’ll fill up both on the way there and again on the way home. I’m getting 7 mpg (per the odometer computer) towing the boat. This trip I’m towing the Ranger on a 10’ trailer which I think will weigh similar to the boat so expect the same mpg. This trip is only about 90 minutes from home but I don’t recall the miles away, probably around 75 or 80.

We’re heading to an area called the North Fork of the Coeur d’alene River where there are many miles of forest service roads to ride on. The river itself is not boatable for our boat as it’s too shallow but it’s great for tubing, kayaking and drift boats. It’s a very popular place in the summer but I’m hoping now that the kids are back in school it won’t be too busy.

This morning it’s 53 with a wonderful sunrise. Looking at the mid 80’s today and the temps this week for our trip is highs in the 70’s and lows in the upper 40’s to the lower 50’s. Kinda perfect if I say so.

74 pm its way to 86 with a strong possibility of a series of thunderstorms moving through this afternoon .... we have a pretty quiet day on tap ..... hopefully that will permit resting and watching football

It only got up to 97° today and at this writing it's 90°. I just had cereal with strawberries and coffee for breakfast. I watched some football today and practiced a bit. That's just being lazy but I'm entitled once in a while. Edit: Check out today's Traces thread. It's a good one.

Coffee now and again at the retirees breakfast in an hour, then I change into my
VFW uniform and we do a rifle salute to open a golf Vet's Benefit tournament at the
local golf resort. They give us a large part of the proceeds which we use to help vets.

50 and sunny this morning with 82 in the near future. Then a nice cool down to the mid 70’s for the week. Gotta put this computer down and get going on my trip preps and get out of here.

We shall never forget.

69 now .... local TV weather calling for a high of 93, AccuWeather calling for 89 .... that's really not much of a difference but I hope the local folks are wrong .... we are looking forward to this weekend's first club camping trip of this fall .... thankfully, the weather forecast looks good ..... its worked out for this outing to be for 4 days instead our our customary 3

Sitting in camp in North Idaho and I’m getting three of four bars of 5G on my phone. I can hotspot it to my IPad which has a keyboard for “old man typing”. Awesome, I didn’t expect this. Also this is our first outing with power and water, nice, no battery management and harping on my wife to quit leaving lights on.

53 with some humidity here on the bank of the river with a cloudy sky. High should see 70 something so should be a pleasant day. We’ll hang out here for a while and when it warms up a bit take the Ranger out for a cruise. Here’s a pic from yesterdays departure, some inept photographer took the shot with the Ranger in the shade and hard to see. No clovishound here.

Actually back here in the woods I'm showing 45 degrees and 70% humidity.
I got a new starter in the tractor but now the solenoid isn't working.
After my coffee I'm going to tackle that. I need the tractor to do some grading.
It's a 1947 Ford 8N and is older than my wife but still runs great. Oh yeah,
when I can start it.

72 on its way to 84 with a high probability of afternoon thunderstorms .... we have a 4 day outing scheduled for this weekend with our camping club .... a good bit of time this morning will be spent getting our camper ready .... since returning home from South Dakota we have unloaded a bunch of things which has left a mess that needs to be taken care of
