Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Feel bad for you that are reporting morning temps in the 70’s. Here it’s a warmish morning at 57. My wife and I watched the bright red sun (smoke) come up through the trees this morning and she commented on how far south the sunrise has moved. We all know what that means. High today is 94 but thankfully tomorrow starts a nice cool down. Highs for the rest of the week are in the 70’s and low 80’s.

Today I’m going to do cover my piles I have staged for my fall burning and then mow and fertilize the lawn. Just another exciting day for me.

It was 79° with a bit lower 79% humidity this morning as a frontal boundary moved through during the night. It felt a lot better out there this morning although we will still make the century mark or better this afternoon. I just had cereal and coffee this morning.

Idalia​​'s track has shifted considerably to the east and our area is not outside its "Cone of Uncertainty" .... still expecting 39mph steady wind with 43mph gust .... total rain projection has dropped to about an inch.

I'm watching the storm closely as we have friends and relatives in its path. So far the intensity is not really great but
the storm surge is what kills. Watch the barometric pressure as the lower it gets the higher the storm surge.

A warm 61 this morning and a predicted high here at home of 88. There is a storm expected later this afternoon and depending on when it arrives it could be a somewhat strong thunderstorm. Depends on the temperature when it arrives, peak heat = storm. Otherwise we’re hoping for a good soaking as we really need it.

Going to head out to the range today and finish up the load development I started months ago for my 300 Blackout. Taking along a few others for some exercise including the 327 Henry.

It was 79° this morning with a low humidity (for here) of 72%. It felt a lot better. We have more hot weather to come. I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast.

Morning all. We are in the prime of “levergun pages”! I was occupied yesterday so missed the Winchester page (1894) with my oldest Weim looking like he might go to the happy hunting grounds, and then once he stabilized, I took the two young ones out for a training walk. We got 200 yards in, flushed the first bird, then made it another 200 and flushed a skunk! The two year old took a salvo to the face, so that was the end of the walk…

Today, is Marlin day (1895 GS) and we are also expecting rain late in the day. I’ve got a bit more machining and welding to do on a customer project, and then Junebug is going in the shop to get some love. Pic of here attached to the Sequoia below:

its already up to 81 (RealFeel 92) on its way to 87 (RealFeel 97), in short hot (not oppressively HOT) .... thunderstorms in the area, last night one dropped 2" in rain gauge by our driveway .... not much change in the projected track of Idalia​ .... they are still calling for 30 to 40 mph wind with 1 to 2" of rain .... we've already been out an about this morning .... a most welcome appointment with my Orthopedist for a shot into my right knee already has me feeling much better .... grocery stop on the way home at Walmart gave no indication of any panic shipping like we usually have when hurricanes are on the way

This morning’s view from the old spot. I suspect I’ll still use it sometimes. It’s much more convenient and comfortable sitting. The hard part is getting out of the chair.

Idalia​ made landfall earlier this morning .... her path seems to be following the predictions .... if that continues, the Wilmington area will suffer a much stronger impact than the rest of the state .... for those who are aware of the Angel Oak in Charleston, Idalia​ most certainly poses a threat .... 73 on its way to 82 with a steady increase in thunderstorms forecasted for today in our area .... once the storm gets here they say will have Peak Sustained Winds​ of 38 mph with Peak Wind Gusts​ reaching 53 mph .... a little over 24 hours ago we had 2" of rain .... another 1-2" is expected as this storm moves through

Finally we got some substantial rain. The predicted storm last night delivered nearly an inch of rain here in the Deer Park area with lesser amounts elsewhere. Had a few rumbles of thunder late afternoon but no lightning that I saw. Thank you for that. Currently it’s 56 and very fresh outside. High is in the 70’s for the next several days. This weekend is a big festive in downtown Spokane called Pig Out in the Park. Dozens of food vendors and over 100 free music concerts on four different stages. Starts Thursday and runs thru Monday and the weather should be perfect for the event.

Today I’m going to take advantage of the wet and do some mowing I won’t do when it’s dry.

We got at least a inch of rain last night, haven't been out yet to see how much water is in the goat's feed bowls. Had a pretty good and close by lightning storm, several flashes followed by the boom in less than a couple of seconds. Haven't heard if it started any new fires.

Idalia's​​ eye has moved off shore but her outer bands are still with us .... she most certainly has left her mark on us over night and is forecasted to hang around till noon .... our power went out shortly after 1AM and was restored around 3:45AM .... 64 now on its way to 79 later today .... wind in the tree tops is whipping around pretty good as it is at ground level .... we have a busy day on tap

56 this morning with a high of 68 later. Overcast skies is all that is left from the wonderful rain we had. After an inch overnight Tuesday night we had probably another good half inch of rain yesterday. Everything is fresh and clean outside. Skipped my mowing yesterday due to the continued rain and did some running around instead. Looked for some bullets and a recoil pad at a shop in Coeur d’alene ID without luck, looked at some Jeep Wranglers at a dealer in Post Falls ID and bought gas at a station in Stateline ID for 60 cents per gallon less than Washington State. Stopped into Cabelas looking for the bullets and pad but no luck. Found the bullets at Grafs & Sons and the pad at Amazon. Tried to shop local…

So today all that mowing and some brush clearing is on the schedule.

We've had two pleasant mornings in a row with low humidity and morning lows in the mid 70's. I've had three doctors' appointments in the last two days. Yesterday I had my eye injections and MOHS surgery on my scalp (that still hurts like hell). This morning I had my regular blood draw and consult with the primary. I had to fast this morning, so I just finished up breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, toast and coffee. Man, I was really hungry.

The wood was mostly dried twigs from this spring. Big fire for a short time.
