Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
73 degrees this morning heading to 100 again. Hot and dry. Almost back to normal from getting to hot back first of month. Haven't been outside much but may try to spray some in a little while.
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Not much planned for today, might do some work that is piling up on bench, everyone have a great day!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
54 with heavy smoke when I got up about three hours ago. We might see some rain later today/tomorrow which will be the remnant of tropical storm Hillary. We sure need it as the area is burning up. High today of 80 but between the smoke and the light clouds we won’t see that. Heading out here in a few to see if we can catch a fish or two, went for a boat ride yesterday and marked a bunch of fish right out in front of the campground.
Here’s Trey on smoke watch for us.

82° this morning on the dog walk. Right now at 10 a.m. it's 91°. Hopefully we can get some rain tomorrow if though it's only a 20% chance. I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Good morning, foggy out. 74° with 98%humidity, only suppose to be mid 90's.
If like yesterday it wasn't "suppose" to be 100, yet it was.

Breaking news, RAIN!
At 4:00 this morning we were awoken by a hard rain hitting the top of the rv. Got up and opened the awning and it was 70 degrees. Sat out under the awning in a short sleeve shirt at first but then the temp dropped a bunch and had to put a sweatshirt on. Yeah!! Here four hours later the rain is just now stopping. Pulled the plug on the boat and had probable 2-3 gallons of water drain out so we had a good rain. Spoke with my son at my place and it’s raining pretty good there too which means it’s raining on the fire near his house.
Look at the difference between smoke from a couple of days ago and this morning’s fog. Yeah baby!

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It's a bit cooler and windy with Harold punching through the Brownsville area. We've seen zero amount of rain with this tropical storm. It went in too far south of us. I'm glad someone got rain, but we need it badly too. Right now, it's 92 degrees at noon time. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee very early this morning as we had to have the sister-in-law at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. for her lithotripsy. It made for a short night for sure.

Fair, 79°F, Humidity 79%
Wind Speed Calm
Barometer 29.91 in
Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny and hot, with a high near 96.
Heat index values as high as 108. West wind around 10 mph.
Coffee is forthcoming. Another very hot day coming up. Our normal temp should be around 80.
I'm trying to get the old motorhome ready to sell and it's kicking my butt. Now I have to replace
the Convection Micro Wave oven. Oh well, gettr done dude.

Seemed a bit cooler in camp overnight and this morning but the thermometer says 57 right now. I didn’t look at it when I got up. More humidity with yesterdays rain. 77 for a high later and we plan on going out to see if we can find a fish. Heading home tomorrow.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I was up at 6:30 to take the dogs out. They let me sleep in "late" today. I don't know what the temperature was, but I'd guess in the low 80's. Right now, it's 98° and we'll hit over 100° today again. Yesterday broke the 24-day streak or over 100°. They're predicting a record high of 108° tomorrow. I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast.

Good to hear you got some too! We got dumped on Monday evening, overnight and most of the day Tuesday. We got a great soaking, but the areas west of us where the big fires are didn’t get very much at all. Some pics from near my brothers place Friday night below:Hatchdog wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:48 am54 with heavy smoke when I got up about three hours ago. Only 76 degrees this morning. Probably means another high over 100. Nice clear days but hot and dry.

Yikes Redthies, sure happy for your brothers sake to see both the water in front of him and the smoke blowing away from him.Redthies wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 12:02 amGood to hear you got some too! Woke up to a cool 51 this morning and with some of the windows in the rv open it was a cool 60 inside. Ran the furnace for a little bit this morning. High of 82 back at home which is where we are heading to today. The rain and wind direction has helped move the smoke out and it’s a very pleasant morning. Sunny with just a slight smoke haze in the sky.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Those pictures look ominous Redthies! Seems like I post later and later the hotter it gets. It wasn't too bad this morning on the dog walk but Sugar Land just reached 106° at the airport a few minutes ago. I'm sure it's not much cooler here. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for the crew this morning. I got my haircut (both of them this time) and generally did about nothing all day. I did pick up some galvanized diamond plate to replace the piece that has rusted out on the wheelchair ramp. I'll get it in place when it gets a bit cooler.
Later,
Jake
