59 with a high of only 83 predicted. I could get used to these temps but the weather guy said don’t bother, back to the mid 90’s this weekend. Oh well, I’ll enjoy the 80’s for a few more days. It’s overcast with a slight chance of some sprinkles but that seems to be a continual empty promise for my place. I’m planning on mowing the lawn today so maybe if I do that plus wash the car maybe we’ll get some rain.

It was 80° this morning on the dog walk (6:30 a.m.) with 91% humidity. I was a bit uncomfortable by the time I got back home from walking the dogs around the neighborhood park. I haven't totaled it but it's around 1.15 miles according to my step tracker. I cooked bacon, pancakes, and coffee for breakfast.

Went to the local Black Powder range today for a work crew. They needed help replacing backer boards. There is a state muzzleloader shoot this weekend. Also talked to the new President of the local club I am a member of. I have a muzzleloader Im not using so Im going to donate it to the lady that runs the 4H group for kids. They teach the young kids how to shoot and try to further the sport of BP. Im all in favor of that.

It was 84° this morning at 6 on the dog walk. There is a breeze so not too bad even with the high humidity. It's supposed to be 103° today and five weeks without any rain. It's getting really dry, and I hope the farmers don't lose too many crops. I just had cereal and coffee this morning.

Woke up to a very refreshing 48 and the high will be 83. Nice temps both. But….starting tomorrow we have a big heat up with highs next week in the upper 90’s. Yuckster. Thankfully the following week when we have a trip to the lake planned the temps are supposed to drop to highs in the lower 80’s. Happy for that. Last time we were there it was in the upper 90’s and not pleasant.

Had a nice birthday dinner for my wife last night that her son arranged for us. We dined at a restaurant on (literally) Lake Coeur d’alene across the state line in Idaho. This restaurant actually floats on the water. It’s called Cedars Floating Restaurant and has been around for decades. Funny, one of my wife’s and my early dates was to this restaurant. Had shrimp for appetizers, prime rib for dinner and a mud pie for desert.

The view from our table.

An early morning today as I was up at 4:30 for no reason. Very pleasant out there at 53. Big heat up starts today with highs in the 90’s. Hot all week then hopefully cooling down the following week for our lake visit. Probably won’t fish much but will enjoy taking the dog (and us) to a remote beach for some fun in the sun and water.

Dogs got me up at 1:30 this morning for no apparent reason, just that they wanted to be a PITA. I'm sure they must have heard something but I couldn't get back to sleep until about 3 so I'm a bit sleepy still. I'll probably take a nap later, which I very seldom do. I cooked eggs, bacon, toast and coffee for breakfast. It's already 91° at 10 a.m. I'm sure we'll be over 100° again today. Today also marks the end of five weeks without rain, so now we start on week six.

58 now with a big heat up coming our way this week. Got up at 3:00 this morning to see the meteor shower but it was a bust. Apparently there was a haze in the sky as it wasn’t very starry. Can’t believe how many satellites I saw, it’s a busy sky up there. Went back to bed for a couple of hours.

Heading over to my son’s place here shortly. He is building a pig enclosure and built the shed roof to heavy for him and his wife to lift. Then home to mow and not much else.

It's another hot one today. It's noon at this writing and already 102°. I had a hard time sleeping last night due to nasal congestion (allergies). I took a couple of Benadryl and that knocked me out, so I didn't get up until almost 9. Dogs didn't get their morning walk and probably won't get to go out this evening with these temps. I got my results back from the MRI yesterday and everthing is looking great. I won't have to have another one for eighteen months now. I just had cereal and coffee when I finally did get around to breakfast.
