This would be the ideal solution for me, but from what I understand, Henry don't like to just send out parts for warranty claims, preferring to get the entire rifle back for inspection. I submitted a support request yesterday and am waiting to see their response.
A little unplanned upgrade this morning. Site is working ok it seems.

Ok Cool. If you do half to send the entire rifle back hopefully it will be a quick turn around. Maybe you will get lucky and they will send you a bolt. I dont know if you plan to but I know I would make a visit to that gun store and let them know what has taken place.kylverstone wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:10 amI guess I should have put my location in my profile. Although I'm a Brit, I've lived in sunny Tennessee for over twenty years, so hopeful for a quick turnaround!

Yes, I definitely plan to! They are a great store, but they need to know the issues with this rifle.

Re: New BBS 45 - complete failure to fire
Just a quick follow-up. I sent the rifle back to Henry (very impressed with their customer service) and got it back a few days ago. I just got home from the range and happy to report no issues at all now in the 50 rounds I put through it. It shoots great!
The report in the box when I got the rifle back simply stated "replaced firing pin and adjusted lock-up".
Thanks again for all the replies, info and suggestions.

Having dealt with their customer service team I agree they are very good at resolving issues. However HRA may want to address their quality control so their customer service team can be less busy. Just my opinion. See too many product issue threads.

I'm happy for you that this worked out. I had some issues with a BBS in .357, and after some fairly extensive efforts to get it to shoot, I sent mine back too. They told me that they replaced the barrel, the bolt, and some other small parts. They said that there was nothing noted about what may have been wrong, which I'm not sure I believe. I understand them not wanting to detail whatever it was that they found, but as a QA person for my job, I'd want to get some kind of root cause analysis done. Then again, maybe the practice is that whenever a rifle comes back for complaints like mine, they just swap out the barrel and bolt and send it back. That may be more efficient from a business perspective, less man-hours involved.
Anyway, I hope you're as satisfied with yours as I am with mine now.

I thought they test fire everything before leaving the factory? How does a firing pin issue not get noticed I wonder?

Well, things are made by people, and people are not flawless. Yes, there should not be a high failure rate. Yet, there will probably be some. How much? I don't know. 1% or 2%?
