Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Today we pack up and go home. Just a two hour drive.
It's been fun and I'm sunburned. I an outside guy but we live
in the woods and I don't get this much direct sun all the time.

76 degrees earlier and heading to 100 again. Another hot one for sure. Enjoying my tea for now then guess I'll head to the hay fields. Like to get thru baling today because rain chance going up tonight and tomorrow.

I got my test results back from the colonoscopy and all the polyps were benign so that's good news. I still don't like the fact that I have to start having the procedure every three years. I just had coffee and cereal for breakfast.

No, but the number of polyps I had made the doctor a bit concerned.

I can understand. I met a guy in Texas a couple of years ago. He was from Butler,PA. We became close friends and I looked forward to seeing him every year when I go back to Port A. This year he was a little late arriving as he had been having stomach issues with indigestion. Im told they scoped his stomach and did see a polyp in his duoderm. But for some reason there wasnt an alarm and they told him to take omeprazole. He was ok for a while but while in Texas this last year ended up in the hospital at Corpus. They wasted alot of time in my opinion and finally after sometime there discovered he had a tumor in the duoderm. He went back to PA in Feb via the plane and a friend came after his rig. They did surgery and got the tumor. But it was cancerous. They found traces in the Lymph glands in the area. He did 3 rounds of Kemo. He passed away July 7th. I dont know if the Kemo got him or the cancer. His wife thinks the kemo. He was down to 103 lbs when he passed. He just couldnt eat. That polyp in his duoderm was the start of the tumor. It wont be the same this year without him and I have lost a really great friend. We had alot of fun shooting skeet together and havin a cold beer. Sometimes life sucks and this is one of those times

Damn Al that sucks. Feel bad for your friend and his family. Sometimes I just wonder about our medical folks but mostly I have confidence in them.

98 freaking degrees here in camp at dinner time. Last night here so as tradition dictates I have just poured my first gin and tonic. Grilled baked potatoes are already on the grill and there is a 2” thick New York steak waiting for its turn. Also there’s frozen giant shrimp from Costco going on the grill. It’s Friday so this place is going to fill up. After dinner we’re planning on going for a walk and checking out the launch. Sometimes there is some pretty good entertainment there.

Spent the day again on a remote beach with the dog. He wore himself out running up and down the beach and in and out of the water. Here he is wearing my wife’s floppy hat with me relaxing in the back. Had a very nice week up here but it’s back home tomorrow. ‘

Man I hope it rains. We are in a severe drought. We got home yesterday afternoon
and my tomato plants were wilted. The next week it's forecasted to be near 100 degrees
in mid week. Ouch!

86° this morning at 9:30 a.m. There's a 30% chance of rain but that also means there is a 70% chance we won't get any rain. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast. The sister-in-law didn't want eggs, so I fixed her a bowl of oatmeal.

A wonderful 61 here in camp. Sat outside and enjoyed a few cups of coffee and now my wife is making my “last morning in camp” breakfast sandwich. We should see some cooler temps today but still in the 90’s. Next week we’re looking at mid 80’s, now that’s a number I can embrace. After breakfast we’ll start breaking camp and head home. It was a fun week.

Another beautiful day in paradise. After church I’ll have a latte with the usual suspects and then off to the rehab center to play cards with another neighbor that fell and broke her femur.

57 back here at home with a high of 96 later. Heard last night that our last rain was July 12th and was .12 inch. After six days without water the parts of my lawn is parched where I hand water. Not sure if it will come back this year but it is seeded with dry land pasture grass which is drought resistant. It will come back next spring, just goes dormant and doesn’t die.

Now the lawn that does get water is in dire need of a trim. Feast or famine.

We came home from church yesterday and one was sitting at our front door. It was wrapped
like Fort Knox and took a while to unpack and then charge, but then I rode it for a bit. It's
quite powerful. Sadly they are made in China.

Life just got busy, have 6 grandkids for next 10 days. Going to the grocery store, I think these kids never stop grazing. Planning which days a couple of them want to go to range. I made breakfast this morning and it took a dozen and a half eggs. I may have to go to bank and get a loan. Everyone have a great day
