Good morning from Northern Iowa.
Coffee and cookies are done, now for the day.
We are all parked in place with really nice neighbors from Florida. We sat out in
folding camp chairs until late last night visiting. The Rally doesn't officially start
until Sunday, but a lot of folks come early just for the opportunity to meet other
folks and party a bit. Nope, no rowdies, just mostly older folks. Good times with
a few drinks and new friends.

52 and sunny this morning with a high of 90 expected. Today is the first day of a building heat wave topping out on Sunday at 98. We leave Monday for the lake which thankfully will be much cooler. But Monday is also a weather watch day due to high fire danger. We expect 90 degrees combined with 20 mph gusting to 35 mph winds and very low humidity. Our week at the lake is expected to be in the 80’s.

Played golf yesterday and my buddy made an early start time so it wasn’t too bad. We played a very hilly course and we walk so it was a good workout. Today is a run around day with my wife’s dr appointment, Costco, a tackle shop for walleye tackle, post office and other stops that I will have to try and remember.

Yep! It was 82 this morning at 6:00 a.m. on the dog walk with 93% humidity which is a heat index of 93°. The air gets so saturated that sweat can't evaporate and give one a cooling effect. I cooked bacon, eggs, biscuits and coffee for breakfast.

That's the weather at home. We're 100 miles south in Northern Iowa so it isn't much different.
The Rally hasn't started yet, but the parties have. Last night we got rained out but it will
start all over again tonight. Alcohol is involved.
Lots of good food, good friends, and good times.

A warm 60 this morning which is several degrees warmer than our normal overnight low this time of the year. Spokane’s low was 68 and in the downtown area it would be warmer than that. Lot’s of low income folks live in that area without A/C and I pity them with the warm overnight temps. High today should be in the mid 90’s.

Doing a little running around this morning and then home to get ready for the lake. Today is boat day, I had switched it out to tubing for the grandkids now I’ll but it back in fishing mode. (Pretty simple, just put all the rods, tackle, net, etc back in the storage compartments and put the trolling motor back on the bow.) Bought some walleye tackle and today I’m going to look for a couple of new spinning rods in order to jig for walleyes. Found a nice rod at a Deer Park store yesterday but they only had one and I need two.

When my Mom passed we cleaned out her house and I found a custom Walleye rod with my Father's
name embossed on it. Should I use it or save it? I think he'd want me to use it. I also have a Steele
fly rod with it's metal case that was his. It's a wall hanger now.

Currently it's 87° and supposed to get over the century mark again today. I had an interesting walk with the dogs this morning. We have a neighbor that lives four houses down from us. He sells cars and always has two or three parked in front of his home with temp tags on them. A few weeks ago, he came out of the house wearing shorts and I noticed he was wearing an ankle monitor. He's always been cordial to me, so we had a brief conversation and I left. I knew better to ask about the new "jewelry". Anyway, as I was leaving to walk the dogs this morning, I heard a rather loud voice. This, also, intrigued the dogs so they wanted to walk that direction. He was stumbling and talking very loudly to himself while walking through the yards. I could tell he was either very drunk or inebriated on something. He wasn't being aggressive, so I just walked by. I hope he gets sober.
I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast.

Coffee and cookies. The row parties are in full swing even though the
rally doesn't officially start until tonight. Lots of good fun and laughing.

57 heading to the upper 90’s possible 100 in Spokane. Ugh! Then to pour some salt in the wound tonight we have a wind event arriving. 20-25 steady with gusts to 35-40. Combined with the heat and the low humidity the area is under a fire warning. If one starts with these conditions it could get out of hand quickly. We’re leaving for the lake in the morning and will be on alert. Thankfully along with the wind we are expecting much cooler temps with highs in the low 80’s to start the week but back to the mid 90’s by the end of the week.

Today is prep the RV day, got the boat all ready yesterday.

73F now with 75% humidity. It's heading to high 70s. Overcast skys. Thunderstorm predicted.

Not much on the agenda. I'll probably finish lawn mowing later.

Now we're waiting for the dumper pumper to empty the waste tanks.
Yesterday morning we cooperated with others to link up hoses to fill our water tanks.
Last evening the CEO of Winnebago industries spoke to us in an opening ceremony and
then provided an ice cream social get together. It was revealed that his second had been
touring the grounds all day acting like a repairman and talking with rally members. I
even spoke to him and didn't realize it until last night. Good idea.

81° at 6:00 a.m. this morning on the dog walk. It's warmed up a bit since then t0 84°. We're supposed to be over 100° today as it hit 102° yesterday in Sugar Land. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast. I'm going to get my fill today as I can't eat anything tomorrow due to a colonoscopy on Wednesday. I'm sure I"ll be pretty grumpy all day tomorrow.

A very warm 65 when I got up and a high of 83 for today. We are under a fire watch today due to winds and low humidity. Tomorrow is supposed to be another day of 83 but without the winds. Then back to the mid 90’s by the end of the week.

Leaving this morning for the lake so I’m really liking those 83 degree predictions. Mid 90’s, not so much.

Air quality for last 4 days has been in the 150-160 range which is very high, currently at 15 which is very low. Everyone have a great day
