We're up early as Carol has an appointment at the Mayo this morning.
Nothing serious, I hope.
I put the new motorhome in the barn for the first time yesterday. It actually fit.

My window A/C is up and running. It’s about the right size for the upstairs which is where all the heat goes. I don’t sleep in this bedroom in the summer so I don’t get all the noise sleeping.

The highs will be in the mid 80’s by Thursday with the relative humidity just as high. Inside it will be 70 to 72 with the humidity around 35%.

Motorhome looks good Hatch. Hope you like it. It must be a gasser I didnt see any diesel emblems on the side. If you go someplace besides a lake trip will you be towing a car?

Yep, a gasser. It has the new 7.3 V8 Ford brought out a few years ago. It has quite a bit more HP and torque than the previous 6.8 V10. And it’s supposed to be a bit more fuel efficient too. I will say that on the test drive it had a surprising amount of power. Of course this is with an empty unit and not towing so that will change.

We will be towing my wife’s Ford Explorer which is able to be flat towed. A bit of a pain as there are a few steps prior to towing including disconnecting the battery negative. I’ll probably put a disconnect in it.

Woke up early to a brisk 45 but at least it’s going to be sunny today. Yesterday it was overcast and windy which made the day on the cool side.

Here’s the wood shed mess waiting for me…it never ends.

I'm up and about early this morning as I've got to take the sister-in-law to her urology appointment. The wife is working this morning so it's all up to me. I don't know when I'll get back as these things usually turn out to be a marathon. I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast. Currently it's 71° and sunny, 98% humidity, with the high around 88° this afternoon.

64 right now on the way to 80 with smoke from Canada. Supposed to get better they say but it hasnt yet. Bike ride today and then maybe mow the yard. Grass is growing fast.

We will be towing my wife’s Ford Explorer which is able to be flat towed. A bit of a pain as there are a few steps prior to towing including disconnecting the battery negative. I’ll probably put a disconnect in it.

We tow my Ford Explorer and what I did was run a hot wire to the battery from the motorhome that keeps the battery charged.
Now I never have to monkey with it. There was an unused pin on the plug in that we used for it.

we awoke to a beautiful 58 degree morning in central NC .... low humidity (which ain't usual) with no rain until Friday .... our 7 year old grandson's coach pitch baseball team finished an undefeated season last night .... we thoroughly enjoyed watching those kid grow into a team during the season .... YES, in our area we do keep score ....

61 degrees this morning and raining. High close to 80 today. Supposed to stop raining this morning, looking good thru at least middle of next week. Had an unusually cool day yesterday.

A cool 51 degrees and overcast and very breezy. Lunch at the library with the senior meals gang and a few rounds of hands and feet. Then I’m off to Wausau to pick up my Outback. I’ve put on almost a thousand miles on the new loaner.

Tomorrow I’ll mow the lawn again. When it’s hot it needs mowing every three days. I never water it and it stays green all summer.

Interesting, I haven’t researched why the battery needs to be disconnected but if it’s just so it doesn’t discharge I’ll see if I can do as you did. Thanks.

It’s a beautiful sunny 49 right now with a predicted high of 72. Pretty darn nice if I say so. Yesterday I drug the old boat out of storage, replaced the drain plugs and re-connected the hoses. Changed the oil and filter and gave it a run in the driveway. Ran great. Today I’m going to take it to a close by lake and do a shakedown cruise. Then I’m putting it on Craigslist to help pay for the new motorhome. We bought this old boat to take the grandkids tubing and for beaching. We will be keeping the fishing boat and it has a ski tow pylon that can pull the grandkids.

79° and headed to the upper 80's. There's a small chance of rain this afternoon. I have to go to the MedCenter for an appointment and plan on taking the Harley. Hopefully I won't have traffic issues like the last time. I've been around Houston long enough to know how to get around on the surface streets when there's traffic issues. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Starting to get cool where I am in Aus has been in the low to mid 20's most mornings, days have been nice with the sun out and making it to the mid 50's. Up to 1" rain predicted for tonight so should warm things up a few degrees.
Need to get used to the cooler weather again, it caught me out a few mornings back, left the farm after dark and coasted most of the 20 miles home hardly touching the brakes. Everything was obviously still wet from a couple of creek crossing when I parked at home and I stalled the truck 3 times trying to get going next morning. Brakes frozen on and I had to select low range 4wd to break them free.

The Explorer has to be in neutral to tow it. To be in neutral the key must be on as well for the steering not
to be locked. With the key on it will drain the battery even though radio, heater, ect are turned off. Depending
on what braking system you use it will also drain the battery, but then you cannot disconnect the battery for
that to work as well.

I use a braking system called Air Force One which utilizes the air brakes on the motorhome and that doesn't depend
on the battery, but just having the ignition on will still do it.

We ran a wire from the coach to the battery which keeps it charged and I also carry a Lithium battery pack just in case.

It all works very well, (most of the time).

Today I will take a shift selling poppies for my VFW Post. We are set up in front of our
local Fleet Farm and we sell close to forty thousand dollars worth of poppies in the month of May.
All the money goes to charity.

heavy cloud cover this morning but they say no rain until late Friday ..... really enjoyed attending our youngest grandson's Preschool graduation yesterday afternoon .... talk about a bunch of really cute kids ..!!!!.. we have a local mobile RV Tech scheduled to come by late this morning to check the frig in our daughter's camper and to work on a roof leak .... with hours of rain slated to fall over the weekend, fixing the leak is critical ....
