67 on its way to 85 under a clear, Carolina Blue, sky .... first up this morning, grilling bacon, pineapple, and onion .... we are looking forward to a lunch visit with close friends who have medical issues which make it hard for them to get out and about .... we will take our new Ninja grill with us and cook the burgers over there .... at 6PM we need to be at a local soccer to watch our 10 year old's team .... looks like a beautiful day on tap

It's already 81° out this morning. It's also very humid. I don't have much planned for the day unfortunately. i guess I'll get some practice in and a nap.
I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

43* and headed for 81*. Going to be in the upper 80s and lower 90s for the next week or so. Having a quick espresso before heading up the hill into the bush to look for a turkey. Momma took the old dog to meet the new dog (5 weeks old now) and have a visit with her girlfriends and sister, so it’s just the young Weim and me for a few days. One or possibly two of my brothers are going to come for a bbq and some fishing. Going to be another busy and hot weekend!

10 day forecast is for temps in the high 80's and low 90's, it should be mid 70's. They say we're going to have a hotter than normal Summer, just hope it's not going to be like 2 Summers ago when we were setting new high temp records, seemed like it was in the 100's for most of July and August and and we even had a few 100 degree days in June.

I can't take the heat anymore when it gets in the high 80's so I guess I'll be getting up early to do outside chores, also living in the canyon we get a couple of hours of shade in the evening before it gets dark. Temp drops quite a bit when the sun drops below the close by hillside.

I mowed the service road shoulders yesterday for Mother's Day. It was actually too
wet, but it was between showers and it looks by the radar that it's going to rain
again his AM, so, I'm glad I did. It looks a lot nicer mowed.
There is a Retreat Center across the lake from us and every Mother's Day they hold
a brunch for their members and they invite the neighbors on the lake. We always
have a table for our family and next door neighbors. They have a gourmet kitchen
and the food is really good. We have a table for 10 reserved right after church.

60 on its way to 84 under a mostly cloudy sky in central NC .... good chance of thunderstorms moving through later this afternoon ... watching grandkids in a morning T-ball game followed by a soccer match in the early afternoon will take up most of today .... whole family taking Maureen out tonight to celebrate both Mother's Day and her birthday

Woke up to a balmy 59 with beautiful blue sky. High today is 82, what happened to spring? As Dave 77 said, we are looking at a hot week ahead.

Got home from our camping trip a day early. My wife caught some kind of stomach bug which made her internal shingles flare up. She was pretty miserable. Better now. So with all these issues she still had to tow the boat home and we took the long way as she didn’t want to deal with the rush hour traffic in Spokane. So she has decided she would like to return to being a passenger and not a driver. Since I tow the trailer there is no way to get the boat to the lake unless I make two trips. So today we are going shopping for a Class C Motorhome so I can pull the boat and she can ride in comfort. The downside to this is I will have to use the Motorhome to launch and retrieve the boat daily which will mean doing a semi pack up daily. Everything is a compromise right?

Fishing was not successful. On the first day we tried for trout with no bites and had to quit early due to a pending storm. We could see it coming and got loaded and back to camp shortly before the thunder and lightning and a hard downpour. Happy to not be out on the lake. Day two we got a full day in again targeting trout and had no bites. On day three we switched to a walleye setup and had a couple of strikes but quit very early as my wife started feeling real poorly. Will have to go back because I think we started figuring things out and I know we can be successful. Alway fun to be out regardless.

Currently 79° under cloudy skies. Rain fell in the early morning hours. We're supposed to get more today and tomorrow. Mother's day looks like a washout. I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast.

Been a busy ten days. A day of rest today is the ticket.

The rain has been coming down since around 1 a.m. We get a break here and there but it's been fairly steady. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Hot weather continues and now I can't get our irrigation pump to prime. Tried for a half hour yesterday and no go. It has been leaking a little but want to get it running so I can use my inspection mirror to try to see exactly where the leak is before I take it apart. It feeds a 2" line for about 50' down to a 1" line about 200' feet to my back yard. I'm going to hook a hose up from my well hydrant to a irrigation hose bib in my backyard and try filling the line back up to the pump and maybe that will get it going. The ditch went dry so the line was empty, if the intake is under water when the pump is off it will continue to siphon water through a couple of sprinklers if they are far enough down the line. Hope we don't need a new pump, it's only 3 years old and was not a cheap pump.
