71° with rain in the forecast for later today. I've got a bit of work to do but it's getting harder to be motivated to get onto it. My plan is/was(?) to retire in November when the house gets paid off. I think I'll stick to that plan but might do some work for one of my local pro clients I've befriended over the years. Anyway, I just had some cereal and coffee for breakfast.

Woke up at 5 am this morning and while laying in bed I realized that today is the day I need to meet the exterminator up at the property near the border. So I got up and after fueling up with coffee hit the road. Sure glad I made that realization as somehow i thought it was next week. It was 31 when I got up but it’s mid 60’s now. Sweet!

First trip to the property since before winter and I’m happy to report all is well. Might head back up in a couple of weeks with the trailer and stay for several days. The ground squirrels are getting active so there’s that! :D

Took this picture of the gate to show my son for ideas. He just installed a gate on his driveway and needs to finish the two sides of it.

Woke up to 46 with a high of 69 forecast for the day. Partly cloudy. There’s a suggestion of an 80 number on the thermometer for the warmer areas here locally. Not me but I’ll be close enough to enjoy it.

Hitting the golf course today which will be my first outing with the temps above 49. Damn time! Spent Tuesday working on indoor stuff, yesterday up at the north property and today on the golf course. One of these days I really need to get back to all the projects waiting for me outdoors.

Been retired for eight years next month and like all us retirees say, “how did I ever have time to work?”.

In the low 70's after early morning thunderstorms. We have one dog that really can't stand thunder and wakes the whole house. Didn't sleep from about 2:30 to 5:00 this morning. Finally got going after a bit. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.

Sunny Friday with thunderstorms moving in in the late evening hours. We've been getting some nice rains but the thunder keeps one of our dogs nervous. She has a "thunder jacket" but doesn't seem to do much good. Hopefully, it won't last long and we can sleep. I just had cereal and coffee for breakfast.

Woke up to 33 crisp degrees but the plentiful sunshine out there should warm things up quickly. Had wonderful weather yesterday on the golf course, first time out in shorts and short sleeved shirt. Might have a little pink on the ole’ legs and arms.

Today it’s back to yard work which I’ve been neglecting lately. Should be a just about perfect day to work in the yard and I just might reward myself with my first gin and tonic of the season.

Good luck to your granddaughter’s competition!

38 heading to the upper 70’s today. Which will be great for my intended day of thatching, fertilizing and then over seeding the lawn. Stuff I planned to do yesterday but instead spent the day in and out of the vet’s office with a sick dog. He was pretty listless for a few days with occasional vomiting and diarrhea. Since he has a history of swallowing a rock causing surgery we decided to get him xrayed and checked out. Thankfully no rock this time so he must have eaten something bad. Doing better today.

Good luck to your granddaughter BRM. It was 59° this morning on the dog walk and currently it's 62°. We're supposed to stay below 70° today. The thunderstorm came right on time last night about 9:00 p.m. It lasted for about and hour and then moved through Sugar Land. I cooked bacon, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast.
