USAF 4, Balloons 0

Post by GunnyGene » Mon Feb 13, 2023 11:45 am

Apparently some of the recently downed 'balloons' aren't balloons.

We're calling them 'objects' for a reason. Interesting statement from the General. Propulsion system? Anti-gravity, anyone? :?

Gettin' pretty weird around here.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/us-heightene ... lake-huron
VenHerck refused to classify the recent shot-down objects as balloons.

"We’re calling them objects for a reason. Certainly, the event off the South Carolina coast for the Chinese spy balloon, that was clearly a balloon," he said. "These are objects. I am not able to categorize how they stay aloft. It could be a gaseous type of balloon inside a structure, or it could be some type of a propulsion system. But clearly they’re able to stay aloft."

We all deserve to hear what they DO know. I'm sure there is a lot. I believe the last three are related/connected to the first, regardless of their composition. It's too coincidental for them not to be. Certainly, the technology is there to come to some conclusions by now.

I imagine those Sidewinder missiles are more expensive than a bunch of plastic that is used in making those balloons.
I wonder about any other ideas for taking down some of the smaller balloons without having to blow them up?

Probably. But there may be some reluctance to making those conclusions public. Remember Roswell, 1947.

Not necessarily. A lot needs to remain classified. It is nice to know anything else than what has already been shared.

On another note, I've heard the number of kill decals they stick on air fighters now includes balloons.

OK, I used to have a job where we worked it NORAD all day. Radar is tricky. We used to tune our Primary Radar down so as to reduce
clutter. If you did not then ground clutter covered your scope. For high altitude we watched only Secondary Radar which involve a transponder on the aircraft. We did not use Primary for high altitude. NORAD should have been painting these things, but they appear to be small and slow moving. Not something they would be looking for, but I'll bet they are now.

There are some things that we all would like to know, but it is in the best interest of the country that they remain classified. I can live with that.

Can't wait for a repeat of the Roswell balloon fiasco. Or a soft landing by one of the current "objects" on the WH lawn.

John Kirby says we don't need to worry about aliens. Hmmmm. ;)

Trudeau says there’s a “pattern” and if there’s one thing he knows about it’s hot air.

Why waste a missile on a balloon. Use a bullet.

That was my thought, why a half a million dollar rocket when a couple or machine gun rounds would do the same D@88 thing.

And it would also deflate slowly and not damage the package as much.

Oddly shaped for a balloon. Waiting on one of the next ones (and there will be more), to zip off from approaching F-22's at mach 20 or more. Or do some other obviously out of this world performance. I've been waiting for 75 years, so they better get a move on. I ain't gettin' younger.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/13/politics ... index.html
The object downed over Lake Huron on Sunday, first detected over Montana the prior day, was different: an octagonal shape with strings hanging off of it and traveling at 20,000 feet over Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
