Re: Range Report: wheel gun flashes at dusk
I can remember shooting a Mosin Nagant M44 at dusk. They are sometimes referred to as flame throwers.

Any one who wants to see a lot of " flash" from a handgun should shoot a cap and ball black powder revolver in subdued light. You will see a little flash when the cap ignites, one in the cylinder gap and a good flame coming out of the muzzle. My late friend had a Walker Colt replica loaded with 60 grains of fffg and we shot it at dusk. What a show.

Does this count at all. I realize its not a wheel gun

I can remember seeing Puff shooting from the air at night. The tracers could be seen and the rate of fire was so high it looked like a beam of light that could bend.

Back in the day when I hunted a little bit with a traditional Hawken sometimes we would be out past dark. Rather than using a ball puller we would just touch off the load in the barrel. Now that was a “ball of fire”
