Justified

Post by BrokenolMarine » Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:19 pm

Just rewatched The complete series of Justified all over again on Blue Ray. Another one of those favorites that we revisit now and then and are just impressed by the acting, writing, and the full character development in the series. It's always fun to pick out the appearance of the Deadwood characters popping in for a guest shot, or showing up for a long running role. Same thing happened in Sons of Anarchy. I guess that might be next on the list...
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Justified and Hell on Wheels! Favorites!

My darling wife got interested in Witches of East End - lots of faces there, some staying, some popping in for an episode or two.

Are these TV shows everyone is talking about? About the only time my TV comes on is to watch the Packers or Brewers.

Haha! Yup, mostly Netflix series. I choose to watch commercial TV as little as possible, I'm happy waiting a few years till a series might come to streaming services, otherwise I choose movies.

Conversely, TV goes off when pro sports come on - too many whiney divas and inconsiderate hypocrites - just my opinion.

Mike, I feel the same way.
Not much tv with commercials, and
Absolutely no as-called pro sports.

True about the sports celebrities. I just like the sound of bones breaking.

We don't have cable or satellite TV. Haven't for years for a number of reasons. We buy the series in box sets. That way we can watch at our pace, no commercials. Just watch for sales and buy them at 40% to 60% off.

Don't watch pro sports any more since they have all bowed to peer pressure on various issues. Was never a big fan anyway, since they define the term "Hero" differently than I have always done. Plus it got really expensive to keep cable, kept raising the price to keep our favorite channels. Went from 39.95 a month to 99.95 a month in a little over a year.

Another one I like is Deadwood, I have the set and watch it at least once a year.
The language may be a little rough for some, but I like it.

I can watch them for free with an antenna although I do have satellite. The Turner Classic Movie channel gets watched the most. Movies from right before and after the war are my favorites. I seldom watch anything newer than 40 years old.

I hate the politics of football and baseball but love the game.

We have an antenna on the roof, but rarely select TV on the menu. DVD/Blue Ray, or the screen for the monitoring of the security cameras. Hah.

Oh yeah. You might notice I mentioned the Deadwood guys popping up in both Justified and Sons of Anarchy. We too, watch Deadwood at least once a year. Our Deadwood set stopped working for some reason... the Season two and three sets of discs wouldn't play on the second episode on each disc. This was about the third or fourth time viewing. I caught the blue ray set on sale on Amazon and bought it. Well worth the money since we LOVE the series. We had to wait for the movie to appear on Blue Ray as well since we didn't have cable. Now we have the complete set, three seasons and the movie.

I just Started NCIS again... we don't have that Complete set... I have Thru Season 14. I loved the series, but they kept losing favorite characters. I understand folks leave, and they tried to replace them with good ones... Kate Left. Ziva was Awesome. Ziva Left... but when Tony ducked out... Sigh.... I left.
