BBX 357 Quest

Post by MarkER » Sat Dec 31, 2022 10:49 pm

I recently bought my first Henry, a 357 and I'm loving it. Enough that I'm thinking about selling my Marlin 44 and my Ruger 77/44 and go just 357. I'm now looking for a BBX 357. An inquiry at the local gun shop resulting in being told they were instructed that everything is back ordered and no need of even asking about it. So am I now embarking on a search for the unattainable?

The fall of 2020 brought about the announcement of 28 new models of side gate loaders and assorted Henry rifles. I ordered a Big Boy steel rifle in 357magnum , it took 10 months to show up. My lgs had it on order with 3 distributors. After a 8-9 month wait someone on this forum suggested to call Henry and "ask Anthony" which I did. Got a call back and was told it's on its way. While I'm seeing more firearms being inventoried at lgs these days the variety isn't there. Few new revolvers, fewer SA revlovers and those offered have been mostly used.

Don't know about Henry now. But recently my Small Town LGS was told by them not to even place an order. That they were to back logged. They were also told that what they got they would get, they had no choice at that time. I was wanting to place an order for a certain model. They and Henry would not help me, or I should say they could not help me because Henry would not help them. But this past couple of years have been trying on several levels for everybody including companies. Not blaming anyone, I bought another companies at the time that was available.

Check out Guns International and you might just find one. That's where I shop for the hard to find guns.

Update... out of 8 pages of Henry rifles I only found one 357 X and looks like seller knows it too....WOW !

Did a bit of a Henry search a few days ago at a couple of shops. One had nothing and the other had quite a few rimfires, a few Big Boy Steels and one .410 X model. If the factories are at max output where are all the guns?

Must be same place as all the Unique powder and Winchester primers! The incredible black hole swallowing up all the stuff they say is being produced!

This mess is going on for 4 years now and was not much of a break from the last shortage of ammo. I have plenty of 22 ammo and everything I need to load except primers. Can't find them anywhere and not going to get ripped off for them.

Did you get a discount for buying 5000? Their website shows $83.00/1000 on sale.
I think you got taken. I bought WSP two weeks ago $4.51/100 ($45.10/1000)

I’m sure I overpaid but haven’t found them anywhere. Gun show in Indiana the first week in December had WSP for $140/1,000. I ordered 1,000 online for around $80 but shipping and haz mat fees drove it up towards $145.

The deal from Target Sports USA is free shipping for full cases and $30 haz mat fee for 1 or a million.

I’m late to the dance and live in a state voting to outlaw 80% of self defense weapons produced so time for shopping is over.

that's exactly what one of my local gun shops said when I asked about the X 357. Well at least Henry is consistent.
