Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
32 and snowing. About an inch or so now and probably another inch or so by the time it stops mid-morning. High is in the mid 30’s so I’ll have to get the shoveling done right away before it gets even more heavier than it is now.
Stopped into a couple of stores that are Henry dealers and not a 30-30 in sight. Saw a few Henry’s but mostly rimfires. Quite a bit of powder out there but the only one I saw that I use was 296 and I’m good on that so I left it.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was 63° this morning on the dog walk and it's still 63°. I guess a cool front must have moved through. I cooked ham, eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast this morning. No work on tap today so I'll give my back a rest. It's been spasming lately and really don't know why. I find it interesting the different aches and pains that occur for no particular reason as I get older.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
About 5 inches last night. Haven't been out yet but it may be wet and heavy, was a little above freezing last night while it was snowing. Actually a little colder now at 30F. Snowfall this year seems a little more like when I was younger. We've had several snowfalls of moderate depth. So far less snow on the ground then last year but last year's snowfall was mostly from 2 big storms, our record 24" and our April snowfall of around 12".
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
58 degrees and raining. Lot different than last Saturday morning at 13 degrees and windy. Lots of folks with busted water lines last weekend.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
It was 55° this morning on the dog walk and still stands as of this posting. I just had cereal and coffee this morning for breakfast. I'll watch the TCU vs MI game later this afternoon. I hope my frogs don't get too embarrassed.

Fair 25°F Humidity 100%
A chance of drizzle and snow before 3pm, then a slight chance of snow between 3pm and 4pm.
Cloudy, with a high near 33. South southeast wind around 10 mph.
Boy was I tired. I slept till nearly 9.
Black Rifle and cookies.
The wild turkeys go to roost well before dark so I put our some feed last night and they
showed up early this morning. That way I don't have to get dressed early and go out to feed them.

THEY SAY its up to 58 degrees .... if that's true its a cold, damp 58 .... THEY SAY its raining right now, it isn't .... THEY SAY it will rain off and on most all day as the temp gets up to 62, that remains to be seen .... looks like a good day to sit back and watch college football

Bummer Dave, 5” of wet snow is not fun. We only got about 1.5” and I didn’t even get the blower out, just used the old manual shovel to move it.dave77 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 1:22 pmAbout 5 inches last night. Today it’s 31 heading to 35 with a very misty day out there. Not very comfortable being outside right now. Today we’re going to reorganize the basement and put the Christmas decorations away. Thankfully we already did the sorting of the “stuff” so now we just need to reorganize the bins on the shelves and eliminate some stuff we will never use. This should make more room for my gun stuff, I save all the boxes that guns and optics come in and this too needs some attention.
2:00 the Gonzaga Bulldog men’s basketball team starts league play. Gonzaga has three losses so far this year which is not usual. But they have played a brutal out of conference schedule this year taking on at least a half dozen ranked teams. They started out ranked #2, moved as low as #16 and currently sit at #10. GO ZAGS!
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
I'm not out of room yet but it's not even January yet. If we have a snowy January/February I'm going to have to hire someone with a front end loader to move some snow. Have quite a bit of room left for my back yard paths, no way to get a loader back there, have to go through the pasture and it hasn't been plowed at all.

Fog/Mist 25°F Humidity 100%
A chance of flurries before noon. Patchy fog before 1pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy,
with a high near 28. West wind around 5 mph.
Up for church. No more champaign. I have a hang over.
Christmas Tree comes down today and then NFL this afternoon.

33 right now and the high will probably be not much more that that. No local news yet for the report. We managed to stay up until nearly 10 pm last night, party on Garth! Watched the ball drop in New York and listened to the songs afterwards, Sinatra, America the Beautiful and Louise Armstrong. Good stuff.
Happy New Year to everyone.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
54 degrees on an overcast morning in central NC .... they are calling for it to hit 67 later today .... if that proves to be right, it will be the warmest day we've had in many a moon .... no more rain until mid week .... I seem to finally be recovering from a head & chest cold that has been rough company since Christmas Eve .... hopefully things are finally looking up again

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
26 and the sun is out.
Stopped at a local road house after church for brunch. It always shocks me when my strait laced Wife
orders up a bloody mary with breakfast, so I just say give me me too.
Country fried steak, eggs over easy, crispy hash browns, toast and a Bloody.
I think I'll take a nappy now.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Happy New Year everyone. I'm glad my TCU Horned Frogs made it to the championship despite all the commentators picking Michigan. It was 61° on the dog walk earlier this morning. It's now 71° at this writing just after 11 a.m. local time. I cooked bacon, pancakes and coffee this morning for breakfast.

I can't taste the vodka even in a strong Bloody Mary, that's why they're so dangerous. I don't really like the taste of most alcohols. That's why I prefer red beers. I do enjoy a straight liqueur like Fireball or quality Amaretto or Baileys, some of the others not so much. A good friend of mine loves Drambuie, I tell him I've got cough syrup I'd rather drink.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 11:44 am26 and the sun is out.![]()

A 20 percent chance of snow after 4pm. Patchy fog before noon.
Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 27. Calm wind.
Winter Storm Warning for tonight through Wednesday.
Black Rifle and cookies.
A day of ease. I'll watch the Rose Parade and some football.
I'll also do a bit of work in the shop. I need to rip some boards outside before
the storm hits. I have a project in mind while it storms.
