I spent most of my working years in BOTH careers either on evening or midnight shifts, by choice. So I never liked getting up early. The only time I worked day shift was when I was teaching or on the range. (If I could help it.) So, I headed out to the shop after she went to bed.I noticed that with the temps in the low teens, the wall behind the workbenches was throwing off really cold air. It used to be the sliding door and even though I had the spray foam guy coat it, it's a weak area in the shop. I was in fear the cold air coming off the wall would damage the dyes, paints and other items on the bench so before starting work, I rearranged the shop a bit to move the bench off the wall, at least for now. I ran that power cord over the overhead beams to drop behind the shelving from overhead for the lighting, like most of the others... and good to go.

Don't tell Miss Tina, I'm not supposed to get on ladders, even that step stool this required. I can't stand for long and the leg isn't that stable but I didn't want to wait.

I was VERY careful and held on to the beam while I zip tied the cords in place.
Then I moved on to working on the sheath. I decided to tool the back of the sheath before applying the resist so I could antique it tomorrow after coffee. I went with the "tuck and roll" pattern. It won't be seen much but I'll know it's there. Plus it's a chance for practice and I can use it later.

The pattern is easy to lay out and the thing that takes the most time is the beveling. There are a number of things you can do to enhance the pattern, but since it's the back, I'll just antique and move on. I punched the master holes for sewing, Step one. Enough for the night.
I'll antique and add a first coat of finish tomorrow to lock in the antique after it dries.
Still a good bit to do, but we are making progress.
