Range Report: reward for snow plowing
The start of the day. Picture was taken a few days ago but not much had changed.
It was more like snow scooping.
I paid the neighbor kid to shovel the van out and then used the front bucket to scoop the snow.
My reward was putting three tubes of Standard Velocity down range. I was shooting at the trap in the top right.

I don't get near the amount of snow that you get up there.
If you have a quick connect bucket on that tractor, I highly recommend a HLA snow pusher for snow removal. It is good for pushing snow and also for back dragging snow away from buildings and vehicles.
Bet you were ready for a cup of coffee after your range time.

Re: Range Report: reward for snow plowing
Spent my Christmas cleaning the carburetor on my walk behind and replacing the drive belt and a pulley on the rider snowblowers. Got both running then cleared my drive and the neighbors by 5:00pm. My reward was cooking a standing rib roast and eating a great dinner.

Re: Range Report: reward for snow plowing
I have the rear attachment for plowing. It won’t plow three feet of wind packed snow but will drag the snow away from things a few feet so I can scoop it and dump it far away. As you can see it does a very good job.Steve51 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 5:17 pmI don't get near the amount of snow that you get up there.

Re: Range Report: reward for snow plowing
Good job, Gene. Hubby uses his ATV with a blade on front for the heavy work. Does the job for us as long as we get out and clear snow after each storm. The problem this winter, prior to this last storm, was that the snow we were getting was all wet and icy. Not easy to clear, but you were gone for those storms. At least this last storm was dry snow. In fact, now that we have that powder snow on top of that early solid base, the XC skiing has been great. Been having a blast.

Re: Range Report: reward for snow plowing
Most of the snow fell as powder but the wind packed it hard and tight. If I walked lightly I wouldn’t even break through. Good for short distances because even walking lightly I would break through occasionally. My snow blower was useless in it.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 8:23 pmGood job, Gene. Your blade seemed to work good. I realize what can be a common snow fall for you all is a once in 5 to 10 year event for us.

Re: Range Report: reward for snow plowing
Great job clearing out the snow Gene. I have used my Kubota one time since I have had it in 4 years to clear snow and that was after a foot of it back in 2018. I don't miss the snow around here but Winter is still here. We just got the 50 MPH winds and huge temp drops on Friday and Christmas Eve.
Re: Range Report: reward for snow plowing
I had a 2 foot drift of snow buildup on my driveway in front of the porch. So I put the plow and chains on my 26 year old Yardman and had at it.
